He has only failed because of personal issues. Everybody agrees his physical talent is that of a #1 WR, he’s unquestionably more physically talented than anybody on our roster at WR. So if he suddenly saw the light and this isn’t just offseason BS to get signed, we would be complete fools to not bring him back. More likely than not, it’s not 100% accurate from the Bills perceptive. Let’s see if somebody tries to sign him. Edited 15 hours ago by Mikie2times Quote

There were no reports or even whispers about that. Of course we don't hear everything. But I think it is accurate he started on the bottom of the roster and was getting more and more reps. Quote

But I find it suspect that he’s still unsigned, including by the Bills, if he’s 100% healthy and Buffalos perception of him is all roses. This is an exceptionally talented player. His services would be in high demand if healthy and viewed as being a more committed player. At the very least we got the closest look and he would be back on the roster. But he’s not, nor is he on anybody else’s roster. Edited 12 hours ago by Mikie2times Quote

Football talent? Disagree. Edited 1 hour ago by GunnerBill 1 Quote

Yeah a lot has been overstated on Claypool’s talent. He looks the part with very good size, strength and speed. That’s what got him drafted. But he was never viewed as an elite “receiving” talent. He was quite raw in college. At this level, looking the part isn’t enough to be consistently productive. Combine that with his mental issues, and now this latest injury, he is probably done in the NFL. Guys don’t get unlimited chances, which is why it’s important not to waste the few you do get being a knucklehead. Because if you do eventually get your head on straight and get an unlucky injury, you may never get another chance. 1 Quote
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Dear Terry, Brandon, and Sean, Thank you again, KC has agreed to sign me. Thanks for Billieving in me. Yours truly and sign it, Chase Claypool 1 Quote

Remember the season ender in 2023 where Rapp intercepted Tua because Claypool ran completely the wrong route. I said when he came out he is a big fast guy who runs well in straight lines and is a weapon after the catch. But his releases were terrible, his cuts sloppy, his overall route running below par and his hands aren't brilliant either. I thought someone might try and convert him into a receiving tight end / H-Back at some point. 1 Quote

muppy Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I have been pounding the drum for the Bills to roster a player from Notre Dame. I loved this guy out of college. Now I read this and I think DANG sometimes life does suck. The pieces seemed to be falling into place e and then an in jury occurs and plans derailed. BLEEEEP DANG! I wonder What ihis health status is now I'll keep watch. I'm rooting for him. I still want a Domer on the bills for selfish reasons just sayin' 🙂 Come on now! Just ONE Domer! lol Quote
CSBill Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I totally forgot that Chase Claypool was even on the team last year. Well, here's hoping he can come back. Quote
The Firebaugh Kid Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) If we didn’t sign Elijah already I’d be pounding the drum for a reboot. This is no spot for him that I can see. Edited 3 hours ago by The Firebaugh Kid Quote

Guys who bounce around multiple teams rarely put it all together on their fourth or fifth stop. Not saying it can’t happen, but it’s unlikely. Quote

But the other things you need for football talent are sadly lacking. Quote
ProcessTruster Posted 52 minutes ago Posted 52 minutes ago (edited) not much a WR can do when his foot was hurt and couldn't play.. just that simple. Bills moved on as it would not cost them anything. Frankly, Bills prob would have done the same with Curtis Samuel if it wasn't for the contract commitment. They pretty much had to keep him and rehab him back to playing. Claypool (and Cooper for that matter) they could just cut /do nothing and get healthier or younger bodies in there. NFL is pretty brutal to guys who can't get/stay on the field. There's always somebody else out there ready to go. Edited 49 minutes ago by ProcessTruster Quote

Eh.....maybe but he ate up massive amounts of credibility by being a massive head case in the prior 2 NFL seasons. It was surprising the Bills gave him a shot. I don't think people like McBeane understand self-defeating personality disorders like Claypool clearly has because you rarely see people with issues like that reach the NFL. Being extraordinarily big and fast got him a long way but once he started getting criticized for his behavior on the field he decided he was going to withhold commitment to the game and that f#cked his career but good.
