So we got NYC, CT, and Boston stations. Bills would be on local television every time we played the Jets and Patriots. Between the many CBS and NBC stations- sometimes Bills would be on. I’d watch Sabres-Bruins on NESN and MSG. Mets were 9, Yanks were 11, Red Sox 38. Knicks and Celtics. UConn. ESPN Bristol CT. WNBC 660 sports radio could be hilarious. When callers call out Franseca for BS or the late night phone calls lol. They took calls all night! 😂 much, much simpler times, but for a chunk of my life, I enjoyed Connecticut sports coverage Groton/New London, CT... was stationed there for over 3 years in the mid 2000s. Near both casinos and the beautiful game of poker easily and we were spoiled for sure. I can't listen to NYC radio and couldn't back then either- I don't know why they always try and present these "tough guy" personalities because they come off as insufferable and "get off my lawn" types. I admit I watch the Mike Francesa Podcast just to see him melt down about the Jests as a guilty pleasure. 1 Quote

I like when Marino, Greg Cosell, Dan Orlasky, are on. I like the player reports and interviews. I like Brown and Tasker. Yes they are Bills homers. So am I. I like Sal. I love the Hump day song 4:00 every Wednesday. I like Marty and Paul- I can’t wait until Sabres start crushing! Then those two will have something happy to talk about. I enjoy some of the calls. but I get what your saying. Jeremy and Joe cried when Josh Allen was drafted instead of Josh Rosen. That tells you all about their football knowledge. Schoop and Bulldog wanted to trade two #1 picks and more, for Brandon Ayuk. And they were killing Bills offense before Amari. Their mantra was “Everyone Snacks”. So some more aggressive bad radio WGR is amateur hour. Half college interns, half dudes who have been there so long they can mail it in. 2 hours ago, NewEra said: I feel like sabres talk, wherever you are, is like breathing in a giant pile of dump. 😢 Because the team is in a drought, there is no effort to be accurate about reporting on the team. 2 hours ago, Pete said: Jeremy is the most informed host, and it’s not even close. I like his podcasts with Marino and Ostroski. I like Jeremy In the land of the blind the one-eyed man is king. 1 Quote

thenorthremembers Posted yesterday at 06:37 PM Posted yesterday at 06:37 PM I am a Buffalo AM Sports Talk listener going back to Empire Sports, but WGR has lost me. The morning show is unlistenable since Howard Simon retired. I tune in for Howard picks the Bills but otherwise its nonsense about golf, soccer, and hockey. Not to mention it seems like they are constantly on commercial. Sal's show is good, Chris and Brownie are ok, hockey talk is dreadful, and Schoop and the Bulldog have been hit or miss their entire career. Lately every time I turn the channel there its either a commercial or Sabers. Sick of hearing about the hosts golf games or fantasy sports. There are way too many options around things I am actually interested in. 1 Quote

Outside of the strictly players shows designed to talk with players in the league or recently out of it which has about all the average intelligence of a rock there are great shows, including with former players. There are few hot takes or people who look to have wild takes for interaction. Booger McFarland is a complete clown though. When your name is booger, the bar isn’t set very high. juss sayin’ 1 Quote
Bills fan since 87 Posted yesterday at 08:19 PM Posted yesterday at 08:19 PM I love WGR. I enjoy the morning and afternoon shows (not so much for one bills live, I avoid that one) I know that's an unpopular opinion in here but I think the complaining is a little over the top. There is a lot I disagree with on those shows and a lot that I agree with. To me that is decent radio. Yes there are some dud segments but there is also some great stuff. 1 Quote

Given the amount of airtime they have to fill in a market without MLB & NBA teams, I can even tolerate the annual Halloween candy drAft 😂 1 Quote
