As for that bet question...I'm not giving up anything to continue watching Josh's prime years. I'll gamble that a couple of Lombardis are coming our way. 2 Quote

I would take the 1 SB and 5 bad seasons if I knew we weren’t going to win a SB in those 6 seasons if i chose the alternative It’s 17’s prime. But knowing that we have 17, I’m also torn. I wouldn’t want to see him have 5 bad seasons and I also feel that he could be good for multiple Lombardis. @Augie I too feel that the journey is the most exciting part of the season. We don’t have any lombardi’s to show for the last 5 seasons, but I had a blast. Then again, I also had a blast watching every season during the drought, when I was just hoping to watch players progress and their careers unfold I get what youre saying, but having a front row seat for the Patriots dynasty and now the Chiefs has really skewed our thinking when it comes to Super Bowl wins. MULTIPLE Lombardis is typically a ridiculous pipe dream. One is far more the norm. And sure, Josh could win multiple, but I think one would be a miracle for McD as it is. Coming out of the conference that has the Chiefs, Ravens, Bengals, etc, AND beating the best of the NFC... I'll take the guaranteed single win. A bird in hand is worth a dynasty in the bush. Quote

His brother posted something about $$$... but what else? The people that are advising him know exactly what they are doing and they make a lot of money doing it. Hands down. James Cook is electric. He helped us beat the Ravens in the playoffs more than any other player. Go watch it again. I did, NFL network played it a few days ago actually. Cook was awesome. Even Romo and Nantz were all "this guy is the real deal" (paraphrase). Not beating down on you Sooner, but the "Cook online BS" is just wrong. That's part of the game these days. Pay James. we win. Don't... we are in trouble more than you think. I think you over value cook. Good solid back with the NFL MVP and the most dynamic Man in the NFL in the backfield with him, along with a top 3 OL. And the other guys Beane re-signed didn't scrub social media and pull that BS 1 Quote

Production wise the two aren't far off from each other. And while I believe Cook is a bit better than Williams, I would place him closer to Williams than I would Henry or Barkley. I've got my eye on him too. I value the two about the same. Kyran Williams is a workout back (took 78% of touches by Rams RB's). Highest percentage by one player on one team last year. Cook is a bigger home run threat but is in a rotation because the Bills like running back by committee and Cook can't pass block. If McVay and Snead feel snake bitten by the Gurly extension they just might play out the year. 1 Quote

I hear ya. I don’t dislike McD as much as you, but I understand why you’re down on him. I think he’ll continue to improve, as he has definitely improved over his time here. I just have so much confidence in 17 bringing one home, I think 2 or 3 is possible. The lucky aspects of winning a Super Bowl have yet to come our way. I billieve they will. Josh has good karma coming his way… and ours 1 Quote

JakeFrommStateFarm Posted July 15 Posted July 15 (edited) Of course Cook is worth it. He was number 89 on the list of top 100 NFL players for 2025. What more do you need ? Edited July 15 by JakeFrommStateFarm Quote
LLCoolCy Posted July 17 Posted July 17 Josina Anderson just posted a long description of the Cook situation which sounds like it comes from Jimbo’s camp weighing their options. If that’s the case I think Cooks camp is leaning towards signing for the Bill’s terms. Quote

I have been saying for weeks there is incentive on both sides to do a short term bridge deal that allows Cook some security to get on the field but still allows for him to cash in fully in the next two years as a FA (with the Bills or elsewhere). 2 Quote

Agreed but the thing is I don't know if Beane wants to set that precedent for someone at the end of their rookie deal. I always thought some likely to be earn incentives was the easy compromise. One let Cook play out the season and agree to not franchise him or come to a contract extension that both sides are fine with. Quote

His career could almost follow the Barkley path where he gets franchised and signs a long term deal with eagles or cowboys Quote

The issue is likely a matter of price and guarantees. Quote
