Mat68 Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Knock on all the wood. He is playing great. First time in his career not playing 80% of the snaps has to help. I think he gets a few more sacks Thursday. Back up RT and Tua is not Fields or Jackson in the pocket. Quote

Prior to his injury, as a Bill, Von had the 8th highest pff run grade for edge rushers at 78.2. Against, a very good grade. Throughout his career he’s been a great run defender. You can have the opinion that he wasn’t good vs the run, but that opinion would be wrong. He improved every year defending the run. I would use a turd reaction but we have no turd reaction. So be it, we aren't aligned here, but nothing more to add and I'm almost always on the same page with your takes. 1 Quote

Just wondering why, when he’s been known to be very good vs the run, that you would think he’s not? Quote
PrimeTime101 Posted September 15 Posted September 15 You can mock his 40 time but he is quick as heck when he gets off the edge towards a qb. 1 Quote

He wasn’t even regarded fine vs the run as a Bill. He was borderline elite vs the run the previous 5+ seasons before joining the Bills Quote
Warriorspikes51 Posted September 15 Posted September 15 3 FF's in 2 games is great. Please stay healthy and keep this up. He must have forced 5 incompletions yesterday I fear for Tua on Thursday Quote

We prefer more anchored edge setting almost in the mold of a 3-4 DE. Von was a 3-4 OLB edge rusher in Denver. He was a traditional DE here and from a run defending perspective Bosa is much more in the mold of what we prefer. 1 Quote

This is what we were getting from Von in the early parts of 2022 I know the man's legal name is "Joey Bosa if healthy" but honestly I'm not seeing anything yet that worries me. It's still early to talk extension but this is looking like a bargain at the moment It's too early lol Quote

The crux of the discussion was that Bosa looked better in this game than in any game Von was a Bill. You're now taking it from that to Bosa at his best was a better player than Miller at their best. The former discussion is at least debatable. But I'm sorry, that's a ridiculous take. Von at his best was easily the best Defensive End in Football. He's a future Hall of Famer that heavily contributed to two Super Bowl wins with two different teams - being named Super Bowl MVP for one of them. Again, I love what I've seen from Bosa. Bosa is the now and we're all behind him. I get being excited about him, I am too. But you can do that without rewriting history for the guy with the Bills logo on his helmet now and dismissing the career legacy of the guy who isn't here anymore. Which you're definitely doing here. Not dismissing Von’s career. He admittedly had a very good distinguished career. He was just never one of my favorite players. Never was wowed by him is all. We all have our guys we loved to watch play. 13 hours ago, GunnerBill said: I agree with most of this. Bosa is closer to his peak and much more physical and, frankly, a more natural fit for our defense than Von ever was (though no question Von played well through his first 10 games with us until the ACL). But at their best a better overall player? As in at their career best? No way on that. Von is a future Hall of Famer, and quite rightly. Bosa's peak was never that. Von will be in the HOF. I just love the physicality of how Bosa plays when he is healthy. Quote
Chandler#81 Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Should we smack Miami around like we’re expected to, I hope Sean pulls Bosa at the earliest possible time. We don’t need him to whoop Tua’s azz Quote

God I hope he stays healthy. Get the extension ready. He's only a $6M cap hit this year too! I think you just have to play full speed to be safe. I’m sure he has one more gear in January but you’ve got to be playing pretty close 100% if you are on the field 1 Quote
