We had to sign a WR.... but JP has no business being on the roster over Ankou. JP should have been signed to the practice squad, he's the one who needs to prove it, IMO.

probably because they like him and they don't want to be in the position in a few weeks when Carter is ready to come back to have to cut ankou.

 

if they just keep him on the ps for a few weeks and see how jefferson and phillips play they can make a decision on who is staying after the bye.  When Carter comes back someone is getting cut.  Johnson, jefferson or phillips.  Same for when or if Smoot is able to come back.

If cooper misses the game sunday then after 4 weeks of being on the team what is the difference between cooper and samuel?

This is why it’s a confusing move.

 

ImWith Coleman gone, you’d think they’d be eyeing more of a boundary WR to fill the role. It’s possible they are doubling down or speed and YAC ability thinking they may be needing to take a lot of underneath stuff the next few weeks.
