2017 (week 5 bye) - Week 6: W, 30-27 vs 2-3 Tampa Bay

2018 (week 11 bye) - Week 12: W, 24-21 vs 3-7 Jacksonville

2019 (week 6 bye) - Week 7: W, 31-21 vs 0-5 Miami

2020 (week 11 bye) - Week 12: W, 27-17 vs 3-7 Chargers

2021 (week 7 bye) - Week 8: W, 26-11 vs 1-6 Miami

2022 (week 7 bye) - Week 8: W, 27-17 vs 3-4 Packers

6-0 after the bye under McDermott

All home games

All vs. teams with losing records (12-32 combined opponent record coming out of the bye)

Wins by 3, 3, 10, 10, 15 and 10 points respectively.

We now for the first time play an away game and against a team with a winning record.

Does any of it matter?

Are we better prepared after the bye? Or just better rested?

Yesterday was the team's first practice of the week, right?

Anyway - good luck to us this weekend!

Or did we just play bad teams so should have won bye or no bye. I would vote not better prepared or better rested. Just the better team.

And those teams finished 5-11, 5-11, 5-11, 7-9, 9-8, and 8-9.

39-59 combined, not a playoff team among the bunch.

Should be a good game.  KC has allowed 21, 17, 14, 14, 10, and 8 at home.  Four good offensive teams in the batch too.

One of those games where the team that makes the fewest mistakes wins.

ah you'll all be calling for the HC's head for the rest of the year  win or lose..

I know that I will be, he's ceiling'd out, why would anyone want a coach like that to stick around.

You happy with ceiling out?

you happy with starting all over again with a completely new staff, new offense, new defense, mismatched roster, 2-3 years of 8 and 8 while things are blown up and rebuilt ?  that's what happens when you shoot the HC.. everyone goes out with him,   everyone.

josh will be 30+ by the time anything is cohesive again...

man, fans are impatient, narrow minded ,impulsive and short sighted...

You finally have a good thing and now you want to blow it up.  amazing

Yup!  With a HC that knows offense.

Sure, if you consider a team that can't advance in the playoffs a good thing.

Otherwise, a whole lot of people would question your definition of a "good thing."

Chiefs aren’t playing great football as of late and we played very well there last season so we can hang our hat on that to beat a winning team coming off our bye. Bills win 31-24.

If our team plays like it did against the eagles we should get the Dub.

And just BTW, if you think that McDoesn'tKnow can't possibly turn the "culture" that exists at OBD sour in short order, think that one over a little bit more.

This ridiculous insinuation that we're otherwise headed for division championships every season and playoffs is clearly over.

The free ride of three bereft AFCE teams post-Brady is now over as well with Miami the better team.

And a little something to think about from Dunne's article, you should definitely read the context, but here's the summation;

One ex-Bills assistant said he’s been hearing from players and coaches alike who want out.

“It’s all a persona,” this coach said. “You wouldn’t have players and coaches asking — begging — to get out of there if the culture was so great. That’s a good team that’s won a lot of football games. It’s hard to win games in this league. It’s not easy. Players and coaches would rather go somewhere else than be there and be miserable.”

I'm not saying that's not embellished at least a little, but it's far from not likely.  If we miss the playoffs, we'll likely be seeing some visible discontent from the outside even.

File under Be careful what you wish for, you may get it.

Nope, not happy with ceilinged out.

But there's absolutely zero reason to believe that's where McDermott is. Just as easily he could be approaching his best days.
