Boy, as time goes on you kind of forget how great he was.

If Josh could have a weapon like this...look out!

A very good O line would help too 🤞

I agree with everything you wrote.

I tend to think OJ was the greatest runner of all time - or perhaps second behind Jim Brown.

But Thurm was a tremendous all-purpose back.  He could run, catch, and block.  He'd be perfect in this offense.

Bills would have won a Lombardi if they had Thurman instead of Motor.

Would have won a couple if they OJ instead of Thurman.

That's putting a lot of pressure on a 57 year old running back, but even though Thurm probably needs glasses now to see the hole, he still might hit it faster than Motor.

Emmitt Smith:

18,355 rushing yards  (#1 most all time)

164 rushing TDs  (#1 most all time)

515 receptions 3,224 yards 11 TDs

11 straight seasons over 1,000 yards rushing.

He & Jerry Rice are the only non-kickers to score over 1,000 points.

Only RB ever to win the SB, League MVP, Rushing Crown & SB MVP on the same year (1993)

Emmit's greatest talent was longevity.  He never had a season where I personally thought he was the best RB that year.

Emmit's greatest talent was acting.  He would act like he was injured on field to give himself or his team a break and broadcasters would talk like his game / season / career was over and he'd take a play off without a timeout and then be back in game.

Take a good look at Barry's playoff performances...He's was a regular season wonder.

Barry averaged 4.2 ypc in the playoffs.

Thurman averaged 4.2 ypc in the playoffs.

Except Barry had crap for an offense and Thurman had the best offense in the league.

He has the record for rushing yards in a single season. Sorry Eric but 2,003 in 14 games beats 2,105 in 16 games. The difference is only 102 yards. If OJ played 16 games in 1973 he probably would have around 2200 or more the way, he was going that year.
