For a little while it was looking like this would be a slow year for concerts for me.

But now I am building up a pretty solid list:

Rodrigo y Gabriela @ Red Rocks

Tedeschi Trucks Band x2 @ Red Rocks

Gov't Mule / Dark Side of the Mule @ Red Rocks

Eric Clapton @ Ball Arena

Peter Gabriel @ Ball Arena

Blake Shelton was mighty good last Saturday at Key Bank Arena. Gwen Steffani came on when Blake said he was proud of himself for learning a new guitar part and he goes into the opening riff of Don't Speak. Carly Pierce is a force to be reckoned with in Country music. The next time he comes in town (or when we go to see him) we will find a way to buy tickets to the bar that surrounds the stage. Full-service bar too.

Jim Croce was a pop guy I can respect... this one actually comes around here. Had no idea his son was carrying on his music.

A.J. Croce, son of late singer-songwriter Jim Croce, confirmed tour dates for his Croce Plays Croce 50th Anniversary Tour. The 17-city fall trek will see A.J. performing songs from his father’s 1973 albums Life and Times and I Got A Name as well as from Croce’s 1972 breakthrough LP, You Don’t Mess Around With Jim.

Jim Croce died tragically in a plane crash on September 30, 1973 at the age of 30. The title track for what would become his final album, I Got A Name, would be released the day after his death with the LP arriving two months later. A.J. celebrates both his father’s 1973 albums, I Got A Name and Life and Times — the latter containing the beloved “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown” — on the upcoming Croce Plays Croce 50th Anniversary Tour.

Saw Rodrigo y Gabriela once as part of a festival and as i was walking up to the venue they were taking the stage and the acoustic guitars filled the air with such incredible sound.  it was really cool.  It wasn't just loud music, it was that full, deep acoustic guitar sound and even today i think about how awesome that sounded

So this is interesting.  With everything that TM is screwing up, The Cure, of all bands, is the one working for the fans, first getting them partial refunds from the excessive fees, now trying out a experiment with having a concert with non-transferable tickets, and not doing the TM Verified Fan crap.

THE FOURTH EXTRA SHOW WILL BE 31ST MAY PORTLAND MODA CENTER – AS AN ‘EXPERIMENT’ TO SEE WHETHER NON-TRANSFERABLE TICKETS ARE ENOUGH PROTECTION TICKET PURCHASE WILL NOT REQUIRE TM VF – PUBLIC ONSALE WILL OPEN FRIDAY 7TH APRIL @ 10AM LOCAL TIME – LIMIT OF X4 TICKETS PER PERSON AND ALL TICKETS NON-TRANSFERRABLE – AVAILABLE VIA THECURE.COM

Ween has been added to the calendar which I am looking forward to.

Matchbox 20 with The Wallflowers is also on the calendar which I am far less enthusiastic about.

This will be the summer of mega tours as my wife bought Taylor Swift and Beyonce tickets.  I am actually really interested to see the scale of production and the spectacle that will be T Swift and queen B playing in her home town of Houston for the first time in a long time.

Ween is always fun...they show up around the local philly area in one form of another, it's fun when they just show up at some random venue

Non transferable isn’t totally new but not many huge shows have done it

Bring Me To Life might be my fave female vocal performance. What's funny is I never listened to Evanescence much past that song - one hit wonder for me.

Just bought two tickets to see Tears for Fears in Saratoga Springs on July 2nd.

Got balcony seats because we wanted to be indoors and not have to worry about rain.

Not terrible seats and only $134 total for the pair, which was pleasantly shocking.

Lawn seats are $44/each.
