Jordan Poyer Podcast

Some stuff on Poyer's injury.

Said he fractured two ribs (small fractures) and punctured his lung, had a pneumothorax.  Was ordered to rest, not to run or work out, which was hard for him mid-season.  Had a second opinion from a lung specialist in addition to the doctor the Bills sent him to, both agreed early in the week that it was resolving, and he could probably play, but not fly.   Said they worked up an additional rib protector for him.  He was

He said the Sprinter van "looked nice" but was "bumpy inside".  I think the Sprinters have fairly stiff suspension and I imagine it didn't feel too good with the broken ribs.  Said "would I do it again? Hell, No!"  (but I bet if it were a crucial game he might change his mind)

He's cleared to fly as of mid-week, but he's staying in Buffalo  to "Get Right"

As a podcast it's kind of a hard listen/watch.  Just Jordan talking for half an hour.  He's a clear speaker, not a lot of 'ums' or 'errs', but it's still A Lot.

He comes across as genuine and open, but I think there's a reason most podcasts have a co-host to ask them questions and make comments.  He needs some help with the production - it looks like he's got footballs coming out of his ears the way that mantle is placed - and he needs some kind of a personal "hook" to draw viewers.  Show his dog?  (can't ever go wrong with dogs)  Talk about the Team Pets - what other players have pets and how do they handle them with all the travel, especially if their spouse/partner travels to watch the game?  Talk about what it's like combining fatherhood with the rigidly scheduled life of a pro football player in season?  Talk about his off-season training regimen and how much time does he really have to go off on vacation and have fun?  Maybe pick a topic, or ask viewers to suggest topics, and focus on 1 each episode.

If he REALLY wants to draw viewers, having Mrs. Poyer asking the questions would probably be a draw - but maybe the point is to build his own identity as a football player and not "husband of Rachel Bush".

There’s a reason Rachel Bush has 4 million IG followers and 100,000 Twitter followers.  Hint: it isn’t for her personality.

I agree.

He wants to get eyeballs, he needs to get his wife on the podcast.

Getting better on his setup!  If he moved the golf bag and the un-hung picture on the floor, that would be OK.

Agreed, who comes up and interrupts a guy's dinner with family?  I thought Jordan was super-cool saying he doesn't mind if fans catch him afterwards, I guess I would feel that's still a bit intrusive.  Let the guy have his family time with his kid start to finish.  the kids must sacrifice a lot too, time when they'd maybe like Daddy at their school for Dad's day but he's gotta be in a DB meeting, or their ballet recital on Saturday but he's gotta be on a plane flying to an away game.

Poyer playing golf with Von Miller for pushups 😂😂
