Can someone PLEASE explain the holding rules to me like I'm 8?

Many refs are afraid to impact the game in big moments.  They already get a lot of crap from both fanbases in every game, so if they're already damned if they do/don't, they'll err on the side of not drawing attention to themselves in the biggest moments sometimes and just let things play out.

Again can be called on every NFL play. I can go pull screen shots of a hold from a Bills player as well.

Chokeholds should be called every time and are NOT on every play.  Only the most diehard of delusional homers would object to these "in broad daylight" holds being called as penalties.

I noticed yesterday the referees in the offensive backfield were calling nothing (I don't think we had any holds called against our line, right?) and the guys on the defensive ball were much more likely to call defensive holding, PI, etc... (although they still let them play, and a few close calls where the DB got there early they let go.)

I truly believe the garbage OPI call a few plays later was a makeup call for this one, but I would prefer they just call this.

Are you talking about the play that was the literal textbook definition of OPI?  I think people get blinded to clear examples of penalties because much more egregious blown calls have happened in the past.

My guess is the ref was looking at a different part of the line when that’s happening.   I mean you just sometimes miss stuff.   They are human after all.   I mean it looks fast on TV imagine what that’s like live and up close!   They do get the call right a heck of a lot of times.   It’s unfortunate when a call does feel as if it changes the momentum of the play though.

Go Bills!

Again shall i go screen shot the take downs from Dawkins and others and complain about them not being called?

Most of those plays there are two officials in the backfield. They just ignored the holds... all game long. I pulled my 71-year old dad into the living room to show him the replay (DVR since they didn't show it on the broadcast) of the CLEAR hold against Jackson early in the game where Lamar hit a WR on a 3rd and long play, to just confirm I wasn't seeing things. He said... "oh wow, how do they not call that? He was going full speed at him and was yanked back."

Boger and his crew are one of the worst in the game. Just completely inconsistent every game they crew. Should’ve been fired years ago.

The inconsistency with Boger and crew is the biggest issue. Most crews have tendencies (calls RTP, doesn’t call holding, etc) that teams can rely upon to even out the calls. Boger’s crew just seems to me more random with what they see and call which puts the results into question.
