Mock Drafts

Your latest Mocks don't have the Bills taking a single player from the SEC (far and away considered the highest level conference in the NCAA). Is that because they're all gone at the time of each pick....or are you avoiding them for other reasons.  Serious question....you put way more work into this than I ever will.

I agree that it's the best in NCAA, it's really an evolving thing. The more write ups I read and whatever film I can watch along with how the board falls and ranking.

Thanks…it’s always seemed to me that you’ll find the best players in the league where they’ve been judged on competing against the best players. It’s not a fail safe strategy but just something I noticed in your latest mock.

Seems silly to even post this one, dontcha think? The first two rounds are at least highly favorable (i.e., questionably good) value, and Watson in the 6th is just disqualifying. Just no chance. And also, no offense.

Can't argue with that

Damn.. Tampa must have really wanted that Pick 57 to give up three times the chart value to move up 3 spots at the bottom of the 2nd ..

Yeah, it was profootballnetwork.com. I could have made 5 different trades that seemed unrealistic. I forget who they took with that pick.

There is a lot of discussions regarding reaching, value and 5th year options. So my question is, At what point is considered a reach? Poor Value? Versus having the 5th year option?

For instance (just using a player, not saying right or wrong). You can use any top 5-10 pick of the 2nd round you like.

Kyler Gordon. Most project as a top of the 2nd rnd pick. Would it really be a bad choice/reach to take him at 25 and get the 5th year option if you are unable to find a trade back partner?

Ok. Lots of trading going on in this one. Traded back from 25 into 3 picks in the first 90, along with a 3rd, 4th, and 5th next year. Then traded back into the early 2nd by giving up a 1,2,3 next year along with some misc picks in late rounds. A few other trades moving back a few spots for extra picks. Missed out in Araiza because of this :(I don’t think this is ever remotely possible but boy would it be fun.

I don't agree that this is the draft to acquire a wealth of later Day Two talent. There just aren't enough spaces for such players who probably won't play much but will need to be on the 53 to avoid poaching. The following picks would present roster management conundrums that are either unnecessary, or at least not immediately rewarding enough to justify cutting other players from depth chart:

57. David Ojabo (only easy answer is an injury redshirt season for 2022; would player be okay with that? otherwise he's unseating another 2nd round pick in Epenesa, or Lawson, most likely, with negligible 2022 return)

EDGE Michigan

64. Jalen Pitre (maybe if they keep 5 safeties (and fewer CBs), but if not, would be difficult to unseat Johnson and Hamlin; would 2022 return justify cutting one of them? I guess if he's promising enough)

S Baylor

145. Jerome Ford (camp battle with Johnson and Moss, unless he can play STs and threaten Jones)

RB Cincinnati *this disruption probably doesn't upset any fans...could be left off list

168. Kyle Philips (Diggs, Davis, McKenzie, and Dotson would be locks. Crowder is a likely keeper. Kumerow has STs value. A healthy Hodgins has a real chance. Room for a 2nd rookie WR is unlikely without STs value)

WR UCLA

I really doubt in the first and second RD. Taking a G or RB.

if all four CB’s that have a first RD grade by the pundits, are taken, then I can see going for one of the many WR talent.

The problem this year is it is such a poor QB draft, it pushes up all of the other good candidates.

I’m not a draft guru as I just don’t have the time, but I do appreciate the time and energy some of you guys placed on this thread so thank you. I
