Week 6 Postgame Thread KC at Bills

The gameplan was likely to dare KC to run and throw short. Hopefully you then force a turnover or two and a few field goals. You then hope your vaunted offense could score on limited possessions on long drives. Josh punted twice on two possessions in the third and Bass missed a kick late in the half. That was the game.

That's a HOOOORBILE game plan

I think the point of the game plan was to bet that Andy reid doesn't stay with the run

His history shows he won't. Strangely did for once today

I'm guessing he could have passed and won too

I'm tired of this Defense.  So terrible.  I'd say maybe once we get Milano back healthy and maybe trade for a good run stuffing DT (yes I really think they miss Star this year) that we'll get better, but frankly I don't actually think that'll happen.

Basically Allen needs to carry the team almost every game, but a combination of primetime jitters on his part and an offensive game plan that won't simply acknowledge that is going to keep this team in that "good, but not good enough" territory.

So frustrating.

I think they need to cut Butler and go after Snacks Harrison or another big body DT. Play Zimmer more. That and Milano coming back should help somewhat. But what's going to be a harder sell is getting more from the pass rush. If I were Beane I would call up Minny and see if they want a 2nd for Yannick.

After the performance against TN, I really had higher hopes for the coaching staff.

I was ready to end up w/ a loss & be okay with it.   But not like that.  We just DID NOT SHOW.  For the 2nd week in a row.

It's fairly inexcusable.  If you lose, leave it all out there. I felt like we spent the whole game worrying that they'd get an 80 yarder to Hill for a TD.

And Poyer this week, and Espanza last week.  I can hear Marv Levy in my head  - don't be dumb, don't be dirty.

So the D's game plan was let AR slice and dice us with 46 runs, and you call that a success.  More like they did what they wanted, and loved every second of it.

Get smashed in the mouth over and over again with no answer deserved the slow methodical beat down we got IMO..

I’m just happy about the score. Most people didn’t watch it, so they’ll truly think we only lost by nine.

Also, that fumble at the end that want a fumble was just not good for my heart. My liver is already kaput, leave the ticker alone.

would again like to repeast that the Bills were playing 5-6 man fronts, and the Backers rarely came up until well after the Ball carrier got the ball...they were almost always playing pass out of Shotgun. They were perfectly happy allowing CEH getting 5-6 yards a pop.  You saw what happened in the 4th when the Bills D decided to play run.

It worked in the first half when the offense was able to move the ball. One 52 yard kick and they go in tied. It is a bad plan in that it demands near perfection from Josh to at least get 3 points on each possession. But then again any gameplan against KC demands 30ish points on offense.

Honestly I thought Daboll gave up on Allen too soon. He was bad in the 1st Q, but he should have gotten back to the spread offense in the 2nd and 3rd. He didn't go back to it until the emergency TD drive that Allen spearheaded.

On THE critical drive in the fourth quarter they went I-formation and handed to Moss for a paltry gain.  Neither that formation nor that player have worked ALL YEAR.  That was Daboll’s play calling in the critical moments of the game.  He thinks it’s like New England where you can just shape-shift into a power running team whenever you need to.  But his coaches and players (especially his running game coordinators) lack sufficient attention to detail to pull this off and he has to know better.

We played a lot of 7 men in the box. Sometimes even 6. We need a big body for sure but the pass rush is more alarming. We have struggled to get to the QB even when blitzing. And its more embarrassing

I actually didn't hate the pass rush tonight. effing Mahomes. We actually moved him around pretty good. He just made plays, damn it.
