A.

Dropping a half letter grade over one mistake is ridiculous. If that's the case he should gain half letter grades for something amazing. He had a few amazing throws in every game. You also have to realize that Josh is carrying this team. The defense is Swiss cheese. This puts far more pressure on a QB to perform.

Every QB makes mistakes every game. By your standards no one gets an A pretty much ever.

An A is a perfect score. Has he had a perfect game yet? I don't understand people's grades.

I don't do plus and minus. But I guess if I did he'd be playing at an A- level.

So then he got a B in your mind? If you did do plus and minus... An A+ is perfect but one mistake is an A-?

Guess I dont understand your grading system. In your system no quarterback would get an A.

You don't negate for mistakes? When you make a poor mental decision that takes possible points off the board then yeah. He did it 3 times in the Jets game.

You shouldn't get an A.

I would only really ding him on a couple plays, maybe only one.....the 14 yard sack was awful.  the play he got injured on I also dont like....dont like him killing himself to make improbable positive outcomes, we need him to stay healthy.  I know I am in the minority on this but taking on tacklers for a couple yards, exposing himself to fumbles and injuries should be minimized some.

A-

Have you ever missed a question on a test and still not got an A? Every QB makes mistakes during a game. In your world Noone would get an A.

A missed question is more like a routine incomplete pass. You get 8-10 drives per game. So grade by drives instead of plays. A mistake that directly takes points off the board should be a full letter grade drop. Yesterday they had 8 possessions subtracting end of the 1st half and the end of the game. If Josh Allen was perfect on 7/8 drives then what is his % grade?

Yes. 3 plays that directly took points off the board.

Most people likely don't have a grading scale and just throw out an A.

and most people don't hand out C grades when your qb accounts for 91% of the offense and a win.  like i said...slow your roll.

When you have 2 fumbles in scoring position and miss an open TD you get negative grades.

to give josh a C grade for any game this season is just insane.

I don't understand your definition here?  Is it perfect to go three and out?  So hes losing points for getting us into field goal range and then getting us knocked out?  I agree it was a bad play but he had numerous good plays that should more than overcome them on your grade scale.  I think he plays above the scheme on many of those drives and is the reason were getting points.

@Cover 1 what do you think the grade should be? 😂😂

For those not checking out the Cover 1 Allen breakdowns I suggest you go look.  I would say even start with the breakdowns from 2018 and watch some before this years breakdowns.  The throw last week against the Rams to Beasley (down the QB right sideline for almost a TD) was a such a thing of beauty.  Great accuracy and he threw with anticipation!!!!  Allen is balling out.  Quit this noise and enjoy the fun ride.

I grade more than just drives, I'll grade individual plays also, but drive killing plays have much greater impact.

I think Josh Allen has been basically perfect this season other than a few drive killing plays.

I guess I'm saying hes been beyond perfect because of some drive SAVING plays that only he makes (Beasley TD on 3rd down).  Bills were 7/13 on 3rd down and I think 4 of those failed conversions were singeltary runs (other 2 were 3rd and forever drop and the play he got injured), 7/9 on third down isnt merely doing your job thats doing very well.  I'm not sure how these type of plays work out in your grading (grading is sorta silly imo but I come here for the discussion)

I texted my buddies at the time that the throw to Brown (that should have been a TD) was one of the best passes I’ve ever seen.

It’s time for us to stop wondering if Josh will ever be a top-notch passer and start enjoying it.  He’s there, and the scary part is he will probably get even better.

I told my Dad last night, not only are we probably watching the best passer that will ever play in Buffalo(note: He has a lot of work to put in still to catch Kelly), but he may well be the best ever one day. Just hoping he stays healthy and has a long enough career. Go Bills!

During the Bills discussion today on "Get up", Orlovsky highlighted the throw to Brown and how insane it really was. Said he literally had a 3inch x 3inch box to put that ball in or its not getting caught. Followed that up by saying anytime Allen has walked on the field this year he's been the baddest dude out there for either team and Allen knows it as well...

What really put a smile on my face is when Ryan Clark, a guy who hasnt shied away from criticizing allen in the the past, said he tweeted out how upset he was to see Allen get hurt. Saying he believes Josh is now the type of player that brings the quality of league up and that we'd all be getting cheated if he had to miss time..... WOW.

Needless to say i caught myself grinning from ear to ear at the conclusion of that discussion.

Its the same throw Manning broke down on his Detail episode last week, and told folks "Dont try this at home" because only a few people can do it. It is a BIG TIME, BIG BOY throw.

I have not disagreed much with you this year on these this year but to me this game was too many flashes of old Josh. I think you are a bit too high here. He almost had a couple of plays where he was had they gone a little differently they could have been on the "not top 10" this am. Imagine he fumbles on that hand off to Singletary, that 3rd down sack a few minutes prior becomes a laughable play as well. We got lucky there, big time.

I am most concerned this week at his ball placement and how long he is holding onto the ball. I would love to see them both get back to where they were 2 weeks ago. So far after 4 games, Allen's big offseason issue needs to be processing the field quicker. Or at least getting rid of the ball sooner. We don't see him often get the top of his drop and release. Otherwise I am thrilled with him so far this season.

Raiders game gets a B from me.
