The list is a bunch of ***** intended to snow the rubes who don't know any better. Half of those quotes are tongue in cheek, satirical, or taken completely out of context. Others (like the Michael J Fox bit) are factually accurate statements. Over 30 years of speaking without a script for 3 hours a day and THAT is the best they got. Says it all, really.

It is good of you to weigh in with your opinions of a man who you admittedly haven't attempted to familiarize yourself with. It's impressive that despite that lack of familiarity, and apparent inability to distinguish him from Alex Jones, you've been able to form your own independent opinion that totally wasn't spoonfed to you by left-wing media.

Bob needs to be left alone for his opinions given him. He's either too stoned to understand the subject or too lazy to learn anything about it. Just in the last day or so he admitted that he didn't know who Nick Sandmann is and has no idea about IG Atkinson and how he pertains to the impeachment attempts. This after blabbing on for pages about Trump/impeachment. Bob is a phony.

Rob, you are right, that was more of Alex's take that I was recalling.  I was wrong.

Haven't listened yet to the left wing talking points.  Can't help you with those.

Ironic how the Tolerant Left can so easily dehumanize somebody because they disagree with their political views

They cannot offer any type of response that shows common decency...........peer pressure I suspect............as with most childish types

These 'progressives' are conflating civility with complicity.

Conservatives who are free to speak or act challenge the left’s political goals and thus must be removed from the public sphere by any means possible.

Rob's House's two excellent posts have already said it best.  Anyone who falls for the posted quote "list" doesn't really know what they are talking about.

Yayyyyy. You found the anti-Rush talking points. “I hope his cancer is extra extra painful”. What a dumb ass post. Get a friggin life.

I never once said that. I never even said anything. I simply let Rush speak for himself.

I'll say something now though: I hope Rush is shown all the respect and empathy he has extended to others throughout his career.

And I'll again leave with Rush's own words:

"Compassion is no substitute for Justice" - Rush Limbaugh

You posted a series of quotes that are taken out of context to make it appear that he conveyed sentiments he clearly did not.

If you want to stand on that then you do you.

I know that class and decency are antithetical to left-wing fundamentalist ideology, but perhaps you could give it a try.

I'm waiting for someone to dig up the Rush quote where he celebrates another human being receiving a dire cancer diagnosis. Again, engaging in this nonsense says far more about a person's character than anything that can be said about Rush Limbaugh through his voluminous statements on the radio through the decades.

CALLER: If you’re in an environment where somebody smokes, you can get secondhand disease from —

RUSH: No.

CALLER: — secondhand smoke.

RUSH: No. You can’t. That is a myth. That has been disproven at the World Health Organization and the report was suppressed. There is no fatality whatsoever. There’s no even major sickness component associated with secondhand smoke. It may irritate you, and you may not like it, but it will not make you sick, and it will not kill you.

Source

CDC: "Secondhand smoke exposure contributes to approximately 41,000 deaths among nonsmoking adults and 400 deaths in infants each year. "

Rush on nicotine:

“There is no conclusive proof that nicotine’s addictive... And the same thing with cigarettes causing emphysema, lung cancer, heart disease.”

Rush on the genocide of American Indians:

“Columbus saved the Indians from themselves.”

Rush on Michael J Fox having parkinsons disease:

"He is exaggerating the effects of the disease. He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act... This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting."

Rush on African Americans voting:

“[African Americans] are twelve percent of the population. Who the hell cares?”

Rush on the NFL:

“Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.”

Rush on global warming:

“If you believe in God, then intellectually you cannot believe in man-made global warming."

Rush on global warming 2:

"Global warming relies on the theory that we are destroying ecosystems. There is no evidence that we could destroy ecosystems."

Rush on global warming 3:

"For years I’ve pointed out that global warming is bogus."

Rush on feeding poor children in public school:

“If you feed them, if you feed the children, three square meals a day during the school year, how can you expect them to feed themselves in the summer? Wanton little waifs and serfs dependent on the State. Pure and simple.”

Rush on a 13 year old girl:

"Socks is the White House cat. But did you know there is also a White House dog?” (Rush Limbaugh, while holding up a photograph of 13-year-old Chelsea Clinton)

Rush on exercise:

“Exercise freaks … are the ones putting stress on the health care system.”

Rush on feminism:

"Feminism has led women astray. I love the women’s movement — especially when walking behind it.”

Rush on LGBT:

“When a gay person turns his back on you, it is anything but an insult; it’s an invitation.”

Rush on people in the military who didn't support the Iraq War:

"The phony soldiers."

Rush on women:

"Women still live longer than men because their lives are easier."

Rush on women protesting sexual harassment:

“They’re out there protesting what they actually wish would happen to them sometimes.”

Rush on the homeless population:

"Isn't that how the homeless became homeless? They used to be institutionalized and a bunch of liberals came along and said, "They have rights! You can't keep them there"?"

Rush on the heterosexuality:

"Heterosexuality may be 95, 98 percent of the population. [Heterosexuality is] under assault by the 2 to 5 percent that are homosexual.”

Rush on legalizing gay marriage:

I simply asked you to think what was your first reaction when you heard first about gay marriage? And I said you’re probably having the same reaction here. And gay marriage is now standard, normal operating procedure. [Pedophilia] could be, too.

Rush on what criminals look like:

"Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?”.

Rush on Sandra Fluke who testified that women should have access to affordable contraceptives:

"It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She's having so much sex she can't afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. What does that make us? We're the pimps. (interruption) The johns? We would be the johns?

Nice. Maybe tomorrow you can take some time and attempt to think for yourself. Best of luck.

By all accounts, this is a good and decent man who treats others with courtesy, kindness, and compassion

I'm not certain you understand the meaning of the word "all."

Cancer is a horrible thing no matter who it hits, but this man has belittled and ridiculed so many over the course of his career it can't be a "surprise" that some wouldn't be overflowing with empathy.

I hope the guy doesn't have to deal with an excruciating, painful, drawn out sickness and the end comes quickly, for both his and his family's sake.  I'll never respect what he "stands for."

By "all accounts" I mean the accounts of those I've heard from who have ever known him personally.

I disagree with your premise that he has belittled and ridiculed so many people. Sure, he criticizes and makes fun of politicians and media figures, but they're fair game, and he doesn't do it in a way that exceeds (or even reaches) the level of anything you'd see on CNN or MSNBC every night of the week.

And I'm not surprised people who don't like him (mostly on reputation, I might add) aren't overwhelmed with empathy, but those people could have the decency to keep their thoughts to themselves.

It's nice that you kept it classy, although I'm curious as to how accurately you could describe what it is he stands for.

...who said you had to?......his political views and now an advanced cancer victim are mutually exclusive events......SCOTUS Justice Ginsburg is an obvious liberal but the thread about her pancreatic cancer diagnosis was civil........do I espouse her views?....no...do I wish her the best in her fight?....DAMN RIGHT...........

Do you find the political satire of the left deeply offensive? When all the late night shows and comedians routinely ridicule and belittle those they disagree with, calling them racist, homophobe, backwards bigots, is that okay because you happen to agree with them? But when someone effectively turns satire on them, it's just so mean and nasty and bigoted, so much so that hordes of social justice warriors are publicly expressing their joy that a fellow human being is facing a gruesome ordeal just because they consider his political views objectionable -- truly deplorable.
