So what are these epidemiologists implying here? Are they saying the vaccines do not work? Are they saying I can still carry and incubate the virus in my system even if I am vaccinated and have antibodies in my system that stop the virus from replicating? Does the vaccine actually stop the virus from replicating or does it simply stop it from producing any of the symptoms of the infection? We need more information than just opinions, conclusions, and recommendations of epidemiologists. We need the details on the facts and the information they're using to reach their conclusions. ‘They’ don’t know answers to any of your questions. A lot these things are dumbed down pseudo science. Like wear a mask... not wear an n95 with a specific kind of filter proven to capture droplets or aerosol transporting the virus. Or stay 6 ft apart, not stay x ft from what sized human who has x lung capacity in what environment relative humidity air temperature and air recirculation. you telling me you can’t sneeze spray more than 6 feet? The most scientific aspects of all the half measures are the specific hand washing guidelines and self isolation to reduce human contact and of course the very scientific vaccines, while albeit bringing numerous unknowns are certainly proven near term in their efficacy. The vaccination status to strangers matters because we are all incubators of the virus. Viruses need hosts to propagate. In vaccinated people the vaccine is very effective at blocking entry of virus into your cells. Thus the more people vaccinated, the less availability of hosts for the virus, and the less virus to be spread.
