You don’t think he made a terrible mistake in telling people it would all be gone in April? This is a pandemic and he passed along harmful, deadly misinformation that people like you believed. Criminal.

Still we we don’t have a national strategy for confronting this. Sad.

No

And that's BS and you know it.

Come on you have all the answers.

What should he have done?

When (dates please) should he have done it?

And why? (what info was available to make the decision)

NYC couldn't even align its response between its Health and the Hospitals departments, but it's surely the Federal government's fault.

Trump should have been on the phone with the administrators of each hospital, telling them exactly what they needed for the oncoming surge of patients!!!

Cuomo bundle? ??

Florida says hello

It's "bungle" you fool. Now, what did Trump do or not do to make the pandemic worse? Don't tell me what he said, talk about his actions.

I'm tired of hearing how badly Trump has handled this, and even seeing on the news how Europe did so much better I figured it was high time for a comparison.

These numbers are current on the Worldmeter site as of 8/5 around 10am Eastern. I grabbed Western Europe nations to try and get close to our own population, without appearing to pick and chose.

The numbers are really close to each other, with the US having a few more deaths however look at Germany who has done outstanding through this by comparison not only to us, but literally everyone else. Like us, their cases still appear to be going up, but deaths are going down. But if you take into account Cuomo incompetence on our side, this more than makes up for the anomaly so far in Germany

NATION COVID DEATHS POPULATION
UK 46,299 67,920,084
France 30,296 65,287,519
Germany 9,240 83,809,800
Italy 35,171 60,453,051
Spain 28,494 46,756,550
Belgium 9,852 11,594,464
TOTAL 159,352 335,821,468

USA 160,335 331,187,544

Deaths yesterday?

The really stupid part is that the health officials of all of these countries were all talking to each other all throughout the Spring.  It's not like they were all approaching this in a vacuum! Some countries tried some things and others tried other things. To Monday Morning QB the results is nothing short of childish....and obviously political in an election year. The United State is a large land mass.  What did people want the federal government to do, ban domestic travel and movement of goods and services?  Really?  Good luck getting groceries and that Amazon order!

Great work. While Europe has only 28% of the total cases that we have they have tested 71% of the amount of people that we have tested. Deaths and population are basically the same. Europe has a much higher death rate per discovered cases. It would seem that there is an inconsistency in the testing parameters themselves. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to find out that Europe is using test kits from China that are unreliable.

our test kits are not from China

but no more reliable

due to  lack of testing materials, the labs are combining swabs into batches and testing the entire batch at one time

https://www.livescience.com/pooled-testing-us-coronavirus.html

after 6 months of learning about the intricacies of the PCR test black box- which multiplies the virus particle 35 trillion times (doubled 45 times) in order to measure it,

https://discoverysedge.mayo.edu/2020/03/27/the-science-behind-the-test-for-the-covid-19-virus/

the FDA is approving quick tests that can produce conclusive tests in 30 minutes

There is no standard for the test being conducted, since all of these labs rolled out their own tests under "emergency conditions" with the FDA applying no quality control.

Who knows how accurate or what they are actually testing

Since the test is basically a black box, a positive test could mean you had the common cold at this point- since there is no visual confirmation of sickness for most positive cases.

in Florida, over a hundred labs were caught reporting that 100% of all cases tested were positive.

https://thefederalist.com/2020/07/15/florida-labs-incorrectly-reported-a-100-positivity-rate-for-coronavirus-tests/
