How many times do we hear the 9 new starters argument?  It's getting old week 17.

Oh and we have played good defenses down the stretch......  Always another excuse.

Remember I am an Allen supporter & think he can be really good, but believe the Bills have held him back and just maybe if the Bills had opened up the offense & given Allen more opportunities earlier in the season that the NE & Baltimore games could have had different outcomes (throw in Cleveland too).....

It gets old in year 2....until that time they have 9 new starters

Now again let's flip the switch......  The Bills are in the playoffs, Josh Allen is the centerpiece of the #2 or 3 rated offense & the Defense the past 2 years is the 32nd & 29th ranked (Allen's yards/game or 30th, 29th & 24th ranked offense the last three years)......  There'd be a mutiny here as to how bad the defense is and that it is unacceptable.

And what if McD came in 2017 & completely gutted the D that was not bad & they went from 16th to 30th, which is what he did to the Offense?

The good new is the games would be awfully exciting.......?

I personally don’t find high scoring more interesting when watching the Bills. I’ve enjoyed this season more than any other higher scoring seasons in the recent past. Sure it would be nice if they threw for more yards. I imagine that’s coming next year.

What high scoring Bills offense?  Got to go back to the K-gun, and anyone saying that wasn't more exciting is not being honest.....  Very few games this year have been exciting.....

Yes exciting in that they are 10-5, but the games itself have been meh......  And yes I've watched pretty much every single minute.

Here again is the perfect example.....  The Bills played Baltimore opposite NO vs. SF.  Four teams all with 3 (or less losses) in week 14......  Anyone who says the Bills vs. Ravens  game was more exciting/compelling then NO vs. SF is lying.....

sounds like you are more interested in a high scoring offense rather than a complete team game. Wins is what I’m after. I do t really rate games based on some subjective analysis of excitement. But I don’t mind if you do.

Very doubtful it happens. I can still see some calling for Barkley to start over Josh Allen though.

There usually is someone in the game day thread every week calling for it.

I think you nailed it with 72.

I think the Bills 20-19 loss to the Giants in SB XXV was one of the most exciting/compelling games I've ever seen. By comparison, I thought the Eagles 41-33 win over the Pats in SB LII - with one punt - was far less exciting/compelling and a bit of a joke. 72 would probably disagree. Like you, I'm fine with that.

I hated that game the Bills played terrible & was tough to watch.   That last drive by Buffalo was so disorganized & NYG continually converting on third downs.  The Bills were so sloppy that game.

Can't argue with Bills fans as you seem to also forget SF-Balt, NE-Seattle, NE- Car & others.....

And yes Philly-NE was a great game.....

I really have a harder and harder time believing this every post you make

The Bills offense is no where close to putting up 400+ yards a game to become a top 3 offense.

What is known by most of us fans that "don't get it" is another 25 yards per game passing is needed.

Add another 10-15 by the RBs  and this team is around a 9-11th team in total yards.

That could equate to an extra 3 points a game and puts them up in the low teens of points per game

I believe that is the plan today and going forward.  Better execution and some added talent can do just that.

ps Every time I see your posts I think of this. LOL

IMO that game sucked - except of course for the outcome.

It's fine to agree to disagree. I respect that you and I have differing opinions.

What I won't do is try to beat you over the head with post after post and thread after thread trying to make you see things my way.

How so?  I think he is severely held back & badly coached.

I think the offense is a lot better then it shows.

The fact that every NFL team has thrown for 300 yards in each of 2017, 2018 & 2019 (except Arizona in 2018) pretty much tells you how this staff has handled the Bills offense since McD was signed.

10-5 and playoffs... it was a long drought so this feels good. Josh is excellent and don’t be surprised if the open things up in the playoffs.

Yeah , this is Buffalo after all. There will be some saying Barkley should start the playoff game.

That is pretty compelling.

That's actually the reason I've been putting up those point differential charts every week - to make the point that while everyone goes all "oooh" and "aaaah" over Big Offense, in the end it's the match between the points a team can generate, and the points their defense gives up, that matters to the outcome.

A game that is won on a made field goal 46-48 and a game that is lost 17-19 on a missed field goal both come down to a FG at the end of the game.

Of course, the ultimate advantage goes to a team that has both a powerful offense AND a shutdown defense.

This whole thing is premised on some theory that "the Bills have held Allen back" which is reiteratively clamored in your posts without evidence or definition.

It's not impossible that the Bills have held Allen's passing, but if so, probably in the opposite way to what you think - by designing reads to be deep to shallow, by failing to plan in enough fast-developing short routes to counter pressuring D's, and possibly by Daboll failing to put Allen in a headlock and give him repeated noogies while yelling TAKE THE CHECKDOWN TO SINGLETARY DAMMIT OR THE ICY-HOT GOES IN YOUR JOCK!

I'm pretty sure a bunch of checkdown passes to Singletary at or near the LOS followed by YAC aren't what you have in mind when you say "the Bills have held Allen back" AmIRite?

The main things that have held the Bills offense back in order of how easy they are (for me) to spot:

1) drops by WR/TE (drops = balls deemed easily catchable)

2) missed opportunities for throws to open receivers - throw either not made, or off-target [these are easier for most people to see, but I'm never sure if it's a route or QB error]

3) lack of a WR who can make the contested, well-defensed catch and bring in the "off target, but top TE and WR around the league make that" throw

Hopefully Josh realizes that he's not where he needs to be and continues to work hard in the off season on fundamental technique.

Maybe they are just limiting josh and trying to force the hero ball out of him in his development by forcing him to play conservative until points in the game where they need to begin to open it up.

it seems at crunch time and key moments the offense tends to open up and the offense makes bigger plays

2nd and 15 in a key drive I’m not really worried about converting I feel like they will find a way
