We have heard a bunch of names for Bills' WR1 even after Brown was signed. Here are the receiving stats through Week 11. Are any of the other guys a clear upgrade over JFB aka "Smoke"?

 

Edit: He is not the 4th in receiving yards. He is 8th. The other 4 in the top 8 were not really talked about on the Bills Boards as possible Bills : Michael Thomas, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Amari Cooper

 

Edit2: he is #1 in receiving yards in the AFC (thanks youngjebrey for pointing that out)

Yes, most are an upgrade based on size alone. That ball that Brown dropped on the crossing route which was "high" for him is comfortably catchable for a non-smurf WR. Additionally, a bigger WR can out

that could also mean though the Offense is lacking real other options though right?  Without Context In terms where the other WRs are on the team.    look at ATL they have two WRs on this list

To the doubters, here is a stat I have not seen talked about yet - how important a WR is to a team's total passing offense. Smoke is at 37+%. None of the others are even close. Only Michael Thomas is ahead at 44%. This guy is surefire Pro Bowl worthy and has an outside shot at All-Pro.

I love Brown and am all for keeping him as WR2, but we need a big, more athletic threat at WR1.

this. If we have a better WR at No1 imagine what both would look like and the pressure we could put on teams. Get me a combo similar to Jones/Ridley on outside

 

knox at TE similar to a Hooper 

 

and Beasley in the slot and NOW we are talking.

Brown was a great signing. He has been an absolute stud this year. My only fear is that teams will soon learn to focus on him as Josh's main outlet and neutralize him or that he gets injured. He really isn't that big a guy and he plays almost every offensive snap. Hopefully he can stay healthy with the amount of pounding he takes on a regular basis.

They doubled him on that Josh Allen TD run.  corner played under and safety was helping over/middle.  No one was on that side of the field when allen took off.

Let's see how Allen does now that our conservative coach told him to be fearless. I believe a lot of the deep ball problems stem from our coaching staff telling him to be safe with the long ball.
