Allen will be the starter right away unlike last year so he will work with the receivers and get the timing down. Second, Foster and Jones improved as the year progressed as well as Allen. They added Brown, speed, and Beasley who has a knack of getting open. They're experienced NFL receivers. Plus the Oline should be much improved. Run game should be better which keeps the defense off balanced. Greater chance for play action creating big plays downfield. I absolutely think our receivers are better this year and didn’t see WR as a need this draft. You want burners on the outside. Brown and Foster are just that. It was amazing to see how quickly teams started to respect Fosters speed and the impact that made. You want your possession guys in the slot. Zay’s natural position is your speed internal while Beasley is pure possession. We have at least 4 guys who require attention and our offense was at it’s best last year when we spread it out. You can question Zay and I wouldn’t argue. But we have guys that each fill a needed role and whom I have faith will run the right routes and catch the ball. We just don’t have a guy we can just throw it up to each play, but neither does 2/3s of the NFL. If we drafted a number one, who are you taking off the field, Zay? I have seen anywhere from 7-10 WRs listed in the top 50 overall prospects. DK has the most upside of any WR in this draft - but he is anything but a sure bet. If he reaches his potential, he will be a stud. However, I would put the following potential 2020 receivers at or above all but 1 or 2 of the receivers in this draft: Jerry Jeudy, Alabama Laviska Shenault Jr., Colorado Tarik Black, Michigan Collin Johnson, Texas Tee Higgins, Clemson Jalen Reagor, TCU Ceedee Lamb, Oklahoma Donovan Peoples-Jones, Michigan Edited April 28, 2019 by billsfan1959 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My apologies in my last response, I misread your post and thought you were asking about my thoughts on next year's crop of WRs. As for the WRs on the team, I think, by making the offensive line a strength, and I do believe it will be, Allen will have more time, he will be able to utilize play action more effectively, and the defenses will have to be more cognizant of defending the entire field and both run and pass. That alone helps the receivers we have to be better than they would be in the s@*t show that was our offense last year. Also, given Foster's play over the last half of last season (which put him in the upper level of receivers in the league) paired with the speed of Brown on the other side, will open up things for Allen (not to mention the running game) - and, hopefully, he learns to take more of those underneath patterns to running backs, Beasley, Croft, Knox, and/or Jones. Also, I am optimistic about Duke Williams. Coming out of Auburn, he had as much talent as most WRs in this year's draft. It was his off the field issues that led him to being an UDFA and then to the CFL. He is a real talent. All in all, I am optimistic that they will be much better than last year. It doesn't mean I don't want that true #1 guy; however, I don't think it will be detrimental to their success if they have to wait another year for it. Plus they fixed the O Line and also replaced Kyle with a guy probably better than Kyle. Plus replaced Kyle's locker room presence with a guy probably going to the HOF. McBeanes are killing it. Just because they want to call it a cool name, doesn't make it revolutionary. I'd be okay if I never see the term "process" here again. To answer the first sentence there, Do we want to be in the bottom 66% of pass offenses or the top 33%? I'd probably take Zay off yes and have WR1/Brown/Beasley on the field.
