Swoope is interesting but I really would like us to find an actual real tight end somewhere, not an H back, or converted reciever, basketball player, quarterback.

Woodside and Bo Levi Mitchell are relatively interesting guys as #3 guys for next year. Both are on the small side, but kind of interesting.

There’ve been quite a few basketball players who’ve become great NFL players.

Can’t remember the last time Buffalo had multiple CFL players in for a tryout. I’m impressed with the pro scouting commitment of this staff.

Thanks for sharing this.

He really looks like he has some quality ability as a player.  I look forward to watching him.

On another note... how many uniform combinations does Oregon State have?  It seemed like every other highlight, and a different uniform.

I'm actually glad our FO is finally thinking outside of the box- we've tried the big possession WR route and it just doesn't work. give me fast guys with good hands all day and twice on Sundays. if we are able to roll out 2 or 3 burners that can beat you both deep and with other precision routes, it's going to be great for the run game too. #1 focus needs to be on upgrading the OL so these guys have time to run their routes and Josh can stay in the pocket for a few seconds without having to constantly run for his life.

....certainly agree bud....think McBeane has done a helluva job assembling his "gang of 17 staff" , many who are exec level guys from around the league to find talent anywhere........

Haven’t seen this level of dedication and commitment since Linda Wilson was in charge of scouting.

I guess my point is that we seem to always be trying to develop a superstar tight end, while never having a serviceable tight end. I'd like them to add a couple of guys who played tight end in college rather than trying so many conversions.

Hopefully he'll return kicks instead of McKenzie who has no knack for it.

Yeah, McKenizie has been a find on offense, but after his horrible experiences with punt returns on the Broncos he just looks like he has no confidence in that role. I'd rather not see Micah Hyde returning punts - he's sure handed, but too valuable and unlikely to break anything - so why not give this guy a shot?

Prediction: Bo Levi Mitchell will make an NFL roster. And I hope it’s the Bills. It’s kind of a Moneyball thing we have going on in the NFL now. Value can be found in both the supremely talented athlete who hasn’t specialized in football (those basketball players), and also in the guys without the Combine measurables who have nonetheless succeeded at the game - in this case, at the highest “minor league” level. Could Mitchell be a bargain basement Chase Daniel?  Sure.

He's on the smaller side, but teh dude put up some ridiculous numbers. I know the game is different, but he is very interesting. There is a little Kurt Warner in his story. He should go somewhere where he has a chance to  compete or a place like NY Giants or Patriots who are going to need a replacement soon.

Short/fast return guy. Meh. I'd like to get a few tall guys on the roster they think they can develop over the summer/camp.

The Packers just signed Allen Lazard from Iowa State. I was intrigued by him prior to the draft. I believe they signed him off of Jags practice squad.

I wanted us to give him a shot after we got rid of KB. Or, more accurately, I wanted us to cut KB so we could sign him!

Agreed. It appears that us and the front office are not on the same page. People have been calling for us to go after guys like Daurice Fountain, Lazard, Tanner Gentry, yet they look another way. I wonder what it is that they are looking for because guys like Fountain and Lazard were freely available and now are playing on active rosters that have better receivers than we do. I don't get it.

His nick name is ‘Quick 6’  Love it!

But he only ran a 4.54 40 yard at the combine. Maybe he was injured? He looks a lot faster than that.

Some guys are bad starters or bad at running 40s.

once some guys are moving they can change direction without losing speed.

His 3 cone drill of 6.83 beats a lot of big named WRs. Diggs, Sammy, Ridley to name some.

Seems like a great 40 can confirm speed, but poor 40 times don’t necessarily prove it’s absence.

Lots of highlight plays in college ball. Like the hands catches.

It actually does work if they will high point and catch balls.....you have these 5 10 corners at a total disadvantage when your 6 5.....they literally cannot stop it

Unless you are Kelvin Benjamin......

Come on now Clay qualifies as serviceable. He might be overpaid by a lot, but he’s a starting NFL TE....  overall including blocking he’s a top 15-20 TE
