The guys a good coach. His teams never get blown out. Our defenses were better with him and he’s an offensive guy. He probably let just didn’t want to be told to play EJ anymore. I don’t know why people are mad at him. Be mad at the idiot that gave him the opt out.

I don't share the anger at Marrone; however, I don't care much for him on a personal level.

One can be a good coach and still be an !@#hole. They are not mutually exclusive...

Still bitter about not getting that Jets job?

the chart says go for 2 if there is 4+ min to go, Petty McPettison

The chart 😂

If the ass had any imagination he would have at least said that they had a play they wanted to work on.

He will probably do the same to the bills when he comes back to buffalo.

Reminding us again of why he is not liked.

True, but Bill Parcells and other great coaches aren't really liked either. But are darn good coaches. The same is true for Marrone.

On the other hand, he had two great DC’s (Pettine and Schwartz) and a much more talented roster to work with.

The “didn’t want to be told to play EJ” thing is 110% myth.

All that said, I’ve forgiven Marrone for how he left my teams (Syracuse and Bills) and hold no ill will.

Point differential is a tiebreaker in playoff tie breakers, I don't blame him.

I don't care for Marrone but loved the move.

"F 'em, let's beat them by as many as possible" is a great mentality in sports. I don't care if it was petty or not.

When I was in high school I had a baseball coach that absolutely despised the mercy rule that we were often subjected to (we were on the wrong side, mind you).

There is nothing wrong with running up the score on a team if you're good enough to do it. If you don't like it, do something about it. The Jets should have sent Adams over the line of scrimmage before the ball was hiked to take out Bortles. THAT would have been an appropriate response, instead they whined like babies afterwards.

So what. Maybe he wanted to work on the 2pt conversions. Maybe he was running up the score. That's fine. There are tie-breakers based on point difference that can come back to haunt a team. You never know how a season will play out. Take what you can get every week. It's the opponents job to stop you.

And when Blake Bortles is running your offence, you have to get points whenever you can get them.......

He has a beef against the Jets. Not sure he does vs the Bills unless he suffered something terrible as a result of pocketing 4 Mill

Why would you want to take out Bortles? Usually he is the only reason the opponent is still in the game, if your getting beaten by a Blake Bortles offence, you should be more worried and angry at your defence....

I’d prefer a coach that doesn’t care about playing nice or making friends, as opposed to faith based clap clap clap Opie on ‘roids.

Just statin’.

very true, Re: Bortles. But at that point in time I would have sent somebody flying over the line just the same. I might just be deranged, though

It's the offenses job to score points. It's the defenses job to stop them. I hate when teams go into cruise control. If you don't want to be embarrassed do something about it.  Good for Marrone.

When he does it for every TD up by 30+ pts on Sunday Night football like Bellichick did it vs us in that destruction in the Jauron era , then its a true Ahole move. This just minor dbag stuff compared to the Hoodie.

every time I hear of this being done.

I can't help but think of the time Marinos Dolphins went for a meaningless two point conversion back in the day when the conversion just was implemented.

Of course they ran it and the Dolphins RB had his knee bent backwards and I believe had a complete dislocation with ligament damage. Out for year and he was never the same again. Sad as hell.

I want to have reasons to hate on Marrone, but this really isn't one of them.   You're up, you are going to win the game, might as well get in some 2 point conversion work in a live situation.

Ehh, I don't hate it.

Isnt it statistically more likely that an extra point will be good over completing a 2 point conversion? So technically by going for it with a lower chance of scoring, you are being nicer to the opponent and giving them a better chance of not running g up the score.....
