NFL Power Rankings week 8 - A few laughs (updated)

imo  a 3-0 team shouldn't be below TWO 1-1-1 teams, one that just blew the biggest upset in 23 years and the other needed Fitz to well be Fitz with 3 first half INT's to get its first W.

So as worthy as it is a read, it has flaws

They all have flaws. I just think Harrison's content is on the whole far and above the others. He really knows the game and its history.

I'm waiting for the hater Pete Prisco's HOT take

I checked earlier and week 4 wasn't posted

I think Copy and Paste has a thread on that

Up 5 ....  which means ...

Bills  Give them a ton of credit for an impressive road victory at Minnesota. They have their quarterback in Josh Allen.

What i find funny is they go back and forth between it being by results of games or talent on the team.  They pick and choose what suites them best.  I have no problem with Bills being in the late 20's  Talent level hasn't changed we still have a lot of holes .  NE should be much lower, they simply have looked like crap

This is why I hate reporters trying to use data to make a point. And also their misinterpretation of the value of analytics. They cherry pick and use data to lie and support their argument.

Which of these trends would you prefer (sorry for the bad resolution, working on a laptop without my standard programs). Anyway, one is the actual completion percentage trend. One is the trend the reporter would have us believe is the case, one would be our worst nightmare.

So the garbage argument about the completion percentage fails to take into consideration any temporal reality. Garbage. More reason to ignore power rankings, especially teams at the bottom since the people doing them don't put much effort into their lazy analysis.

The only power rankings worth reading are Elliott Harrison's at NFL.com

He's got the Pats at 13 and the Bills up to 27.

Previous rank: No. 32

Call it the most stunning result in the NFL regular season in years -- maybe since the Chiefs routed the Patriots on "Monday Night Football" back in 2014.

Actually, not sure even that outcome was as eye-opening as the Bills stampeding the hapless Vikings.

While your friendly hack writer was among the many who predicted a Minnesota win, that same article mentioned (multiple times) that turnovers could be the single factor to even out the tremendous disadvantage Buffalo faced coming into Sunday's game. Josh Allen faced the usual fire drill up front on several plays, but he still managed to perform efficiently as a passer whilst running for two scores. The Edwin Moses actwas spectacular, man. Somewhere, Joe Ferguson must be proud. #BILLS

Love that he called himself a hack writer

6. New England Patriots

Record: 1-2
Week 3 ranking: 4

The Patriots rank 31st in receiving yards from WR (230). New England has just one catch this season that went for 30 yards, a 30-yard reception by TE Rob Gronkowski in Week 1. -- Masi

8. Miami Dolphins

Record: 3-0
Week 3 ranking: 16

The Dolphins average the third-lowest time of possession per game (26:46). That could be because their opponents convert on 80 percent of their third-down rushes, tied for the second-highest rate in the NFL. -- Koontz

...

What a !@#$ing joke!!!

They must be grading this like college ball.

The Pats have been playing like ****.

RIGHT NOW Miami deserves the better spot.
