To me this sounds like Bosa is going to end up having surgery and landing on IR. They will give it a couple of weeks, it will never heal properly, and he goes under the knife. Mark it down.

Hopefully stupid fans won’t wuestion his toughness, force him to return before it’s healed, Sammy style.

And Peterman has a big sigh of relief.

Well, I highly recommend they take their time with this. Give it an extra week or two to be sure he’s 100%. Feet are tricky with all those little bones under such giant people. Yeah, take your time, for sure.

I think we win that game regardless. My guess is the home opener after the first playoff appearance in almost 20 years, will be a positive atmosphere for us to play in. I honestly feel like the Bills will start out 2-0 and I am the furthest thing from a homer. I usually am more on the negative side. I just simply don’t think the Ravens are good and that Chargers game being in Buffalo will matter.

I checked with a friend in Vegas, and he said my personal presence at the home opener is worth 6 points.

Fortunately, I think we’re good enough to overcome that hole we start in.

Joey Bosa seeking second opinion on injured foot

Joey Bosa's absence may extend beyond Sunday's opener. But the Los Angeles Chargers remain hopeful they'll have their Pro Bowl defensive end back from his foot injury sooner rather than later.

Sources say Bosa is scheduled to travel to Green Bay for an appointment with renowned foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson for a second opinion on Wednesday -- timing that suggests Bosa's availability for next week's game at Buffalo is in doubt, too.

At this stage, sources are describing Bosa's injury as a bone bruise, but not one that is major. It was enough of an issue, however, that Bosa was limited in practice Wednesday and did not participate Thursday or Friday, when he was spotted in a walking boot. The Chargers ruled him out for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Bosa also missed time early in camp after suffering an injury to the same foot Aug. 7. But that was a soft tissue injury, one source said. He returned to practice this past week, then suffered a different injury on the same foot Wednesday.

Bosa, 23, has been one of the NFL's top defensive players since his 2016 debut, recording 23 sacks in 28 career games.
