Goodwin used to fake injuries all the time IMO. Didn't want to hurt his track career and chance at making the Olympics. Once that ended, his injuries were over. What a coincidence.

100% agree with this.

I thought this when he was still on the team, and  his year in SF last year confirmed it for me.

This makes no sense.  The Bills allowed him to compete in the Olympics. He never competed in track during a NFL season.  And if there was even a hint of faking injuries, the 49ers would have likely figured it out when looking at his medical records.

Not sure about the faking injuries, but assume that when he was still long jumping he might have kept a bit leaner making him more susceptible to football  injuries ..

Pretty simple really.........once he got that signing bonus Goodwin didn't have ANY financial incentive to abandon his olympic dream while with the Bills.......he was basically playing for league min and with his pedigree he was easily going to get another job if he was cut.....so he held the cards.    Hell he wouldn't even practice running routes in shorts at bills mini-camp in 2016.......he was ALL-OUT on being an NFL player until he played out his hop-dreams.

From the Bills perspective he was a sunk cost so they didn't have much choice:  release him or let him play out his dream and hopefully get a good walk year out of him after the olympics.

So he wasn't willing to play thru any injuries......those track guys are like thoroughbreds, the bumps and bruises of an NFL season would cripple a competitive runner.........so he feigned the seriousness of his boo-boo's to get IR'd and was back jumping hurdles and posting videos of it on instagram by midseason.?

Bills got played but it was amusing watching him actually try to learn how to play receiver in his walk year.   He took a beating proving his durability and getting up to speed to earn his "second contract" as he put it.?

Deonte Thompson?  C'mon man, this guy singlehandedly cost us the JAX playoff game last year with drops and penalties.  WTH would anyone want this POS back?

NoTyrod cost us that playoff game , when wide open receivers are waving their arms in the air and he decides to run against that D-line

Steven Means should be in here and offered a contract.  Not a sexy name, but the guy can play, he lost out on a numbers game in Philadelphia.  The Eagles DL is one of the strongest in the league.  This is how you find diamonds in the rough.

This is what I refer to as the Don Beebe Theory.

Don Beebe was an OK WR but because he played for the Bills, he was totally overvalued by the team's fans. Beebe became overvalued solely because of the team's fans having blinders on about the player.

This can be said for Cam Phillips, Brandon Reily and Deonte Thompson, just to name 3.

He was good enough to win a Super Bowl with the Packers. He was good enough for Brett Favre to like him...

Not to mention not even cracking 100 yards passing in the biggest game of your pro career. What does that tell ya?

Six recently cut players the Buffalo Bills should look to for depth

If the Buffalo Bills poor preseason performances have taught fans anything, it’s that the team lacks depth in certain key areas. Those areas include the offensive line, wide receiver and, to a lesser extent, linebacker. Now that the NFL’s cut-down day has come and gone, there will reportedly be about 1,184 free agents for general manager Brandon Beane to pick from. Here are six players he should consider.

They confuse him with Hunter S. Thompson.Wake up and smell the morning pudding.

Well now that they released Jack Nicholson's nephew, the Bills need the 'famous relative' connection.  Also, the fact Deonte is heir to the Thompson's Water Seal fortune.  Football is just a hobby.
