BurpleBull Posted August 6, 2018 Share Posted August 6, 2018 I don't think Coleman was brought in with the hopes of him materializing into a WR1 or WR2; I think he was brought in to keep defenses honest, but more importantly to help Kelvin Benjamin and the offense out on the outside with his speed, when Benjamin's working from the slot. I see Coleman as having the most value as a slot guy. He also has value as a KR and you know how McDermott feels about having guys that can contribute on special teams. Basically said that issues extend back to last year and that isn't wasn't entirely performance based. I've heard a lot that Coleman is lazy and didn't know the playbook. I mean the Browns drafted Coleman and then gave him: Kizer RGIII McCown Kessler As his QBs, one could argue the QB was never there, nevermind the mental bit. Some or all of this has got to be true, but if a first round pick can't be motivated by being traded for basically a bag of footballs then I don't know what will.
