Please keep this discussion on net neutrality separate from one on WGR.

This has been hashed over many times in Off the Wall forum until political sabre rattling occurred and moved to PPP limbo.

Good call, Im out.

As someone who works in the Product department of a major ISP,  you are wrong. Be ready to pay for individual fast lanes, on top of what you are already paying for subpar speeds.

Net Neutrality wasnt started by large tech firms. It is not a "fake" issue. It is a consumer issue that goes down to the We the People level.

Content creators can do what they like, and their subscribers will react accordingly. ISPs mostly have a monopoly, or duopoly at best, in local areas. There is no competition or choice, or path unhappy consumers can take.

Unless you own an ISP you are on the wrong side of this argument and against your own best interests. I would benefit greatly (to the tune of six-figure bonuses) if my company is allowed to do this. And I'm still against it because I know what it means in the bigger picture.

There’s a lot of wrong in this post. Just because you work in product development doesn’t mean you know the history of internet transport.  What you’re describing is exactly what critics of net neutrality have been warning for a decade.  Because the tech firms don’t want to pay for wholesale transit, the increased costs of maintaining the networks will eventually get passed on to the consumers.   Good job.

They already do, and pay special wholesale rates (Google and Facebook are two of my customers). Net Neutrality wont change that or make those charges go away for them. They need the connectivity.

Getting rid of NN will simply allow the ISPs to double-dip, and charge the end user for costs the wholesale customers are already paying for. Not to mention control content, which is a whole other can of worms.

Again, unless you own an ISP there is no reason you should be against Net Neutrality.

Nope I just get the "you are trying to stream this station from a location outside of north america" recorded message. I always got that when trying to access live content.  Now I get it when trying to access on demand audio too.... if the page even opens without saying I am from a banned GB IP address.

Where are you based?

Hey Gunner, I am in Europe for vacation , Italy specifically, and had no issues downloading episodes. I have not tried to listen live though.

V2 App has has been working fine for me.

V2 app? Never heard of it.

The app updated itself about 10 days ago. Easier interface, trash icon to delete downloads. The downloads have worked great once this version came out. Maybe if you delete what you have and re install from App Store. Some of the issues will go away.

BtW I used  EXpressVPN to watch game pass for the Panthers game. Worked great Friday morning in Rome.

I have googled for a v2 app and all I got on google play was some vine type short video sharing thing. Is it apple only? Or is v2 app a VPN thing as well?

I don't need VPN for the games I get everything on my gamepass subscription but I confess I am missing WGR a bit. Not getting Sal's kinda daily round up does make me feel less connected. I have been listening to the cover 1 guys but I do miss the WGR chat. I might get a cheap VPN.

I hate this new app, every now and again it just stops working or stings ad's on forever and you miss the show that is on the air.

That happened yesterday afternoon when McDermott was meeting with the media just before practice.

Apologies for the confusion. Meant to say version 2 of the Radio.com, and those are my words. The user interface has changed, so I am calling it V2. I assume it is the one available in the App Store now   Works just fine for me.

So is the app fixed? I don't want to download and delete it Again... been around 4 times, and that's just a drag. Listening to WGR on the laptop and in the commercials they are touting a new updated app. Fixed?
