H2o Posted April 24, 2018 Share Posted April 24, 2018 (edited) Donahoe was doomed by the Losman pick, Whaley was doomed by the Manuel pick, but I think this regime has a longer leash. They are the ones who were part of ending the drought. Things would have to take a serious downturn around here for them to be ousted within the next 4 years. That being said, they NEED to hit on a QB. Brandon isn't a scapegoat, he's a salesman. It's his job to sell whatever product we put on the field and you have to admit he's been damn good at it. In your scenario he's doing a terrible job selling the Sabres...they stink and no one is showing up....you have a good team, ticket sales will follow... (He had better make the RIGHT choice) IF (for what ever reason) Beane can only get a later pick, say 5 or 12, and the QB choices are already picked over, Beane has a little wiggle room (time) to redeem himself. I don't really follow hockey so I can't speak as to the job he has done there. With the Bills he has been $$$ in his marketing. We have had decent teams at times, but he has sold us the dream and the stadium has always had solid attendance from what I can gather. Also, from reading the messages on here, it doesn't seem like season ticket sales are hurting in the slightest. People bought tickets because of Brandon? There are season ticket holders from '60s and '70s who never heard of him. People don't buy tickets because of his marketing.
