stony
Doug Flutie is/was the master of PR. He destroyed that locker room but always put his smile on for the cameras.

He wouldn't give them the time of day because he could get greater exposure dealing with the national press covering the sport. RJ was more team oriented and supportive of Flutie when he played and it wasn't reciprocated by Flutie when RJ played. These two qbs ended up despising one another. Most people sided with Flute while I don't and didnt. Many people were drawn into the compelling Flutie and family story of his autistic son. There was the other side of Flutie who was a self-promoting back stabber and two-faced manipulator. Dude, you're right on the money with this. Flutie was a grade-a !@#$, and NOT the quarterback the OP thought he was.
DriveFor1Outta5
And everyone around here says that Flutie was the only jerk out of the two. 3 minutes ago, joesixpack said: Dude, you're right on the money with this. Saying that people feel sorry for Doug because of his autistic son is a real scum bag comment. If RJ is this bitter years later, he certainly helped tear apart the locker room as well. It sounds nothing short of miraculous if true.
Bakin
Anyone defending Robosack has no loyalty to the saying ‘dance with the girl that brung you to the Ball’. (If that’s even a saying) Flutie earned the right to start the MCM game. And they brushed him aside like a day old diaper. I dont get it..

This interview made Johnson sound like a terrible guy. Robby J needs to learn that some thoughts are best kept to oneself.

Like I said earlier, he played the PR game better than most. In a town like Buffalo, we ate that scrappy underdog crap up (literally, F'ing Flutie Flakes). Flutie was very deft with his public comments toward Johnson. But that isn't the issue here. He was more critical and scathing behind closed doors and through non-attributed statements than many people are aware of. I'm not trying to knock Flutie as a player. He was a good player for the Bills. But what I am saying in my posts is that the public angelic persona that he had in Buffalo and more importantly the national scene was in reality more devilish than people are aware of. This article summarizes what is being discussed here. The moral of the story is that the public face isn't the same as the private face. For some people image is reality and for others images are sometimes very fraudulent.

Mounds fumbled away a near certain TD on the Miami 12 yrd line after a 65 yrd pass play. 2. Andre Reed bumped the referee after he was called down on Miami’s 1 yrd line and earned an ejection and a 15 yrd penalty. The Bills had to settle for a FG. 3. The Bills committed 9 penalties and had 4 fumbles. You appear to be forgetting a few critical points of the Tenn Game: Homerun Throwback. Yeah... Took a miracle to lose, but they still lost, should have never been in that position.
