I’m just all about being consistent. I thought RI was a giant scumbag before we signed him and gave him a chance.  I thought he showed signs of growing up and I was happy to admit I was wrong.

But given this childish behavior, his past, & his age, he is not really worth it and doubts I had about the guy are coming back.  He is toying with a franchise that gave him a chance when he is at rock bottom. How can people defend that? And if it was a guy like Kaepernick, would you defend him, when he hasn’t done 25% of the stuff RI has done?  Just be consistent.

I’d even be fine if when they asked for the pay cut he said no and perhaps an off color comment. I get hurt feelings cause some bad blood and he’s a high strung guy. But the games he’s currently playing just aren’t defensible after cashing a million dollar check and signing the contract

You sure about that? This a serious assumption and a mans reputation. Maybe long ago but now?

Did Bills fans completely forgot about RI before he became a bill (the second time after he got cut from the Rams because he was a moron)?  If you look at his life, the last 3 years are the outliers.  These week on twitter matches up with his past.

and I’ve seen the guy out in both Buffalo and Arizona. Not really a stretch to assume he would indulge in some “stuff.”  He’s a really good G but let’s not pretend like he is some poor innocent guy. He has created 95% of the problems in his life.

Apparently to some, his agents, like Doug Whaley, went rogue and signed the contract. Poor RI was powerless in the whole situation.

Younger, not better.

Do you know how the nfl works?  They are always looking to replace the old vet with the cheaper younger one.  Guys age really fast in football.  It’s also the G position, which is one of the easy to replace.

RI has no leverage here and has no reason for this temper tantrum.

His jersey has always been a hot seller here...the stadium is full of them on game days and out at SJF. Some fans LOVE him.

Another question:

i dont know this as fact but i vaguely recall that you can’t renegotiate a contract signed in that same season. So there might not be a way for the bills to renegotiate short of cutting him and re-signing?

(think it was an RFA situation where I heard that- noting a team couldn’t give ridiculous terms to a guy to help get him off his original team with a handshake agreement to restructure immediately after... imagine giving a huge year 1 salary to a guy on a cap strapped team, they can’t match then you can’t restructure that to signing bonus to be more friendly to both team and player once he’s in house)

So RI goes from being retired, to showing up to conditioning, to asking for a release. I smell Belichick.

Richie is dreaming if he thinks McBeane are letting him walk. But maybe a trade? What can Mr. 3XProbowler fetch?

Belicheck would be on the phone in minutes if Richie is released..

I don’t, but I also don’t default to any bills mishap being the pats fault with absolutely no proof or even vague reason to suggest it

True, it's just my paranoia talking. But how often have Bills players made a beeline to Foxboro? How about a recent social justice champion/WR who asked for a release. Paranoid for good reason

He is fine. He is just pissed that he restructured. THREE consecutive Pro Bowls and he knows now the guard market is thin. He really should be pissed at his personal team for brokering such a Bills friendly deal.

shouldn't have signed it then

His reasons for retirement were bogus. He passed his post season physical without an issue. He stood with Woods at his retirement. It’s my personal opinion that someone told him he could void his contract by retiring. Then after finding out he could not, is trying to act like a headcase so the Bills will release him from his contract. McBeane and Co. need to treat him just like Boldin: if you want to play, play for us. If not, bye Felicia.
