Trade for Foles after round 1 for a #2 this year and next year. He is the only FA QB next year. Send both #2's this year or move to the top of round 2 for Lamar. If we cannot trade up for a QB......You will hear cries of incompetency and conspiracy whether warranted or not. A fair number will not accept any explanation whatsoever. Come to think of it as divided as people here are on which QB to be chosen THERE will be threads by the advocates of the QB's who were not chosen claiming incompetency and conspiracy. This will go on for months and the daily threads on this will ramp up if we get off to anything less than a 6-2 start. I want to win as bad as anybody but some people need to get a life. Inigo Montoya Posted March 17, 2018 Share Posted March 17, 2018 If we can’t get our QB this year I’m fine with stacking our team with great young players from this draft on cheap rookie contracts and seeing what McCarren can do. This team has a lot of needs and this draft and all of our picks can fill a lot of them. McCarren had great success in college and has had several years to watch the pro game and evolve. Anyone who says they can predict how a young QB is going to develop is fooling himself. There is no certainty that one of this year’s rookie QBs will be better than McCarren. It's pretty common knowledge there is no Manning or Luck in this draft and there probably won't be one to enter a draft for another 20 years. Thing is though them kind of guys only come around every so often so you have to take your shot at a qb not of that stature. I don't think it will happen, but it would definitely be my favorite of all the scenarios left at that point. It would take the sting out of not getting our QB this year a little (and would take the sting out of losing a franchise LT for a plan that didn't work out) if we move back at 12 for another 1st next year. Everything was in place, tons of picks , new gm, just coming off a playoff appearance. Some years you get goff and wentz, others you get winston and mariotta.
