people want a fair shake when deserved, most of us know people who have admission playing by the rules, thank goodness for immigration

letting people run in and get voting rights without a criminal or health check is beyond cynical, even for sourpuss libs

he oppressed the A-team at times, forced 12 key Chinese poets to commit suicide.

my favourite politician of all time had this said about him by Burkhardt:

Insignificant and malicious, he governed with
the help of a professor of jurisprudence and of an astrologer, and frightened
his people by an occasional murder. His pastime in the summer months was
to roll blocks of stone from the top of Monte Amiata, without caring what
or whom they hit. After succeeding, where the most prudent failed, in
escaping from the devices of Caesar Borgia, he died at last forsaken und
despised. His sons maintained a qualified supremacy for many years after-
wards.

Make America Great Again! Now those coal mining losers can go to work at 7-11! HooooRah!!!

Waging war against convenience-store clerks. “Immigration agents on Wednesday targeted about a hundred 7-Eleven stores in a sweep to interview workers, open employment audits, and arrest 21 people suspected of being in the country illegally. According to the Associated Press, the action was aimed at management conducting illegal hiring practices more than at undocumented workers.”

It's what happens when you're an ignorant blowhard who talks before he thinks or does his research.   If Obama said this a year and a half ago, Republicans already would have him impeached.  Is Trump aware of the 2010 Haiti earthquake and the damage they're still recovering from after Hurricane Matthew last year?  The irony of him wanting people from Norway (Bernie Sander's ideal democratic socialist country) is amusing.

In the following posts you'll read amusement of the liberal media's overreaction and how they need a sense of humor.  Maybe even some whataboutisms about former presidents.

There was never any movement to impeach Obama, stop saying there was.

All the comments sections were taken down by every news outlet on tonight’s story, probably because it was 90 percent not unfavourable to Trump.

Quite the fantasy, isn't it?  If Obama had said that the media would have reported it as "Obama attempting to strengthen quality of American workforce".

Nobody had serious thoughts about impeaching Obama.

Talking about impeachment only because the other side won is such a c-unity thing to do, always in the camp of liberals.

Normally that's true, but I don't find this story amusing in the slightest.  Maybe the quotes were taken out of context and Trump can clarify.

A physical wall is an exercise in futility.  Illegal immigrants willl just tunnel underneath, elevate themselves over, punch a hole thru, or find somebody to smuggle them across an opening.

We need to eliminate the incentive for them to make the crossing.  Deny SNAP, WIC, EBT, Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security to illegals.  Fine employers caught hiring illegals twice the annual minimum wage per illegal

I’d be even harsher on businesses that hire illegals. Confiscate their property, auction it and put it in a fund for laid off Americans. See how quickly businesses stop hiring illegals.

Haiti is a place of abject poverty and it's been devastated by natural disasters.  But I think it's a huge mistake by the pres to call it a shithole.  Same goes for the other countries he was referring to.  These are people's HOMES.

By the same logic, the PM of Norway could easily refer to the U.S. as a shithole.  Would you be ok with that?  Would Trump be ok with that?

And look again at which kinds of people Trump is targeting.  And who he immediately holds up as a counterexample.  I'm sure most here will disagree, but Trump's behavior clearly says RACIST.

And denying anything is what it is means you're never going to address it.  Illegal aliens are breaking the law.  Haiti is a shithole.

The uproar isn’t about whether Nigeria and Haiti are actually shitholes. People are pissed because our President should know better and act with more class. Do you think his behavior and language is acceptable?

I used to work at a group home for adults with disabilities.  People used to shout out cruel things at the residents sometimes when we went on outings.  The time a guy came right up in a woman's face and called her a "retard fat !@#$," I guess that was pretty cool.  Probably what I should have done, instead of getting upset, was to congratulate him on so precisely identifying the circumstances to the betterment of our collective understanding.  It's true, she was in fact overweight.  And her measurable intelligence was far inferior to that of the gentlemen who sought to clarify the discrepancy.

We have dug ourselves into an amazingly huge hole of debt and crumbling infrastructure, all the while ignoring the wholesale corruption, primarily because we have phony as *$@! politicians using behavior and language to distract people from long term consequences so they can feel better in the short term.

I think straight shooting and colorful language is exactly what we need at this point in time. Diplomatic niceties can go pound sand.

It's racist to want Westernized, educated, self-sufficient individuals to immigrate here as opposed to uneducated, often uninoculated, individuals from the third world?

Also, those places are **** holes, and they are **** holes because of their governments.

Then he should try and fix that stuff. How does calling a country a shithole help anything? If you can’t see that he takes a step backward every time he puts his foot in his mouth like this then I don’t know what to tell you.

Countries that are long term shitholes are shitholes because of corruption and politics. That's why a country like Venezuela, loaded with natural resources is a shithole while Japan, devoid of natural resources thrives. People choose the country they want, invariably. (when I talk people I'm talking people in general, not the Sally Struthers caricature of the starving child)

I see a difference and I see a similarity.  Trump is like the shouting guy because he acts without any sense of dignity.  He pisses people off unnecessarily.  He could make his point in a way that didn't enrage people and exacerbate the problem.  But he chooses instead to generalize and use hateful language. Because he's a bully and a bigot.

I will not defend his language but I have to ask, how many Haitians do we need to import every year? What’s a reasonable number? Should they have any qualifications or should we just let them pour in?

Do you think the lottery is a good thing for America and a reasonable way to allot immigration quotas? I think it’s absurd as is the chain migration that allows cousins etc to enter the country in preference to others.

I also dont don’t think it’s our job to clean up Haiti. It’s not going to happen anyway. I gave a lot of money to the Haitian relief effort and I have zero assurance that any of it was used to help anyone there except to line the pockets of the local authorities.

Because to get past the media filter, which would do everything it could to assist the Democrats in glossing over the fact that they support continued mass migration from those countries, he had to call them shithole countries to bring attention to the matter. If you don't understand that then I don't know what to tell you.

It's interesting watching the media have a psychotic breakdown trying to figure out what to filter and what to get outrageous about. When the 'shithole countries' story first came out they were spinning up the machine to try and drive public outrage against Trump, but you can already see them starting to downplay it a little because that public outrage never really materialized. My local rag is as leftwing as it comes, and if they thought they could get traction on this story it would have had huge front page headlines. Instead there was a small headline directing people to read about it on page 5. We certainly live in interesting times.

He had to call them shithole countries to bring attention to immigration? What a joke, he’s been talking about it since he started campaigning. Now people are going to pay attention to him about immigration because he said some countries are shitholes?

Legal immigration isn’t going anywhere. We will continue to take refugees and immigrants from all over the world. We can talk all day about fixing illegal immigration but immigration isn’t going to stop because Donald said Haiti and Nigeria are shitholes. Where are your ancestors from? I bet you aren’t Native American.

No, it was actually kind of nice.

For example, if a person had a health issue, we didn't mock them for it and kick them out of the house.  We called the doctor and tried to help them.   :nana:
