Worst WR corps ever? + collateral damage to DropZone Jones

Spots like Banyard holds have long gone to young players.........like Mike Gillislee, for instance.......and that has really helped them build what has been fairly deep, playoff-worthy roster for the past 4-5 seasons.

Banyard (2012) is just one draft class ahead of Gillislee (2013).

Cool story.

Bills signed MG when he was 24 and he ended up in that #3 RB spot Banyard fills now......last year he was in the role Tolbert plays now.

They signed Banyard when he was 28.

4 years difference is a lot for a RB........you follow?

Gillislee was 25 when the Bills signed him. Do you ever fact check or always just pull things from your ass when posting?

3 years would be a big difference a RB that is getting NFL carries on a full-time or even part-time basis. Considering Banyard only has 23 carries in his career, this is not the case. You follow?

OMG you are an idiot.

MG turns 27 in November and Banyard turns 29 ten days later.

They are a full two years apart in age

+

They arrived in Buffalo two years apart.........hence FOUR YEARS DIFFERENCE.

Then you doubled down on the cluelessness by trying to compare CURRENT carry stats when we are talking about MG 2015 vs. Banyard 2017. (MG came to the Bills with a mere 6 career carries)

Obviously every human is built differently and some have the genes to enjoy longer careers than others but all things being equal, running backs don't hit the proverbial wall based off reaching a certain age nearly as much as the total times they have carried the ball. It's the wear and tear and the bruising hits that shorten their careers, specially the ones that enjoy the contact.

Someone who has barely carried the ball at the age of 29 vs someone who has carried the ball much more often at around the same age are two totally different circumstances. In short, just looking at age is stupid.

It all depends on when the bushings get wore out.

Wood was just extended a few weeks ago.

This is a Family board. Keep that info to your personal porn skype safe place please.

These extension do not mean what they once did. I see teams walking away from players each day it seems. FA that were given decent contracts over multiple years. I don't hold much account in the extension of the contract. Almost felt like a political move, ala Russ.

now that the season is rolling I am thinking Kyle's was as well.

They kept some Team Leaders to teach and instill a quality work ethic and i am sure these guys are just that.

Kyle is My personal Buffalo Bills Hero. Play his tail off and is effective still, But not sure that is solely why he was brought back.

Eric Wood is not the answer at Center for this Team.

Some might question if he ever was . I might be one of them. Like him ? Sure. Should have improved that position years ago and still should.

no one is safe ! obvious enough to me.

O'Leary was 5 for 54 yds against Bengals. He is Taylor's new go to guy with C. Clay out.

with that big wrist bandage he is going to be the New go to guy?

ha he shown on the injury report, Have not seen it. Thats a lot of wraps from an ace bandage Alf.

I hope we can just keep him getting snaps!! who is next up.

rhetorical question

eh who cares about a TE with 10 ypc when we need WR's?

his point is clear

It all depends on when the bushings get wore out.

dry rot can be a killer as well.

little to no usage while set in the garage

Worst WR corps ever? I guess you aren't old enough to remember those back to back 1-13 seasons, huh?

I too am disappointed that Jones isn't doing better, but in his defense, we know he can catch a football because he did it hundreds of times in college. Also, a very high percentage of the passes thrown to him have been far off target. He'll get the opportunity to turn this around, I hope.

This team is what it is this year. We are 3-2. Games are going to be tough to win since the offense stinks. But they will be in most games since they don't turn the ball over, they have a very good FG kicker & their defense is top 5 imo. Maybe they could sneak into the playoffs with that formula. The AFC stinks this year. Next spring reload on offense. I would use everyone of those 6 picks we have in the first three rounds on offense. Tweak the defense thru free agency. This year was a throw away year anyways, I expected us to be out of the playoff picture by Columbus day. We are tied for first right now. It is not entertaining football too watch but I think this team is heading in the right direction if & it is a big if they could hit on their draft picks next year.

They've never had back to back 1-13 seasons..........unless that was the old AAFL back in the 40's......but perhaps after the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor they lost all their good wideouts to the service.

The closest were the back to back 2-14 seasons in 84'-85'.........and Jerry Butler and Andre Reed were their two wideouts in 1985 and even Byron Franklin had over 800 yards receiving in 1984.......ain't any WR on this roster getting 800 yards this season......I feel confident of that, Mr. historian.

....sounds like the jury has voted and the verdict is in......the receiving corp has been repeatedly and severely tested, demonstrating woeful dereliction of duty and malfeasance.....they are easily identified as the sole source, complicit charges added, in the failed nature of the Buffalo Bills passing game with a RICO law violation of conspiring to make their QB look bad........sentencing is scheduled for November 32, 2017.......stay tuned....

I am rather disappointed in the effort to secure Tyrod a new long term buddy.

Even Jordan Matthews was hardly an effort to field an NFL Wrs group.

It is strikingly odd.

and if they are all about drafting their "own " players.

Jones is the poster boy , like it or not.

So far? Not so good.

and who else are they developing in the WR room for long term?

I don't like the method. I don't like the method with the O line either.

And maybe Bills just fell into some luck with the defense.

Nearly No one had hope for Poyer btw. Hyde was a ST ace who played safety.

Interesting season to watch. But my meter is recentering about now over the Big Picture

My cousin sent these to me. Take from them whatever you want. I know you can't always find the open guy and it's easy to go back on film and say he should have done this or that. But it seems there were plays to be made and he had guys running open a lot of the time. Sorry, wasn't sure whether to put this in the Tyrod thread, the All-22 thread or this one.

When I was a kid and they traded Haven Moses to the Broncos, I was so pissed... so I can somewhat relate to all the butt-hurt Sammy fans.

Those pic are going to somehow not be anything to worry about. Just wait a few mins. A few people will let you know why it doesnt matter. 2+years of starting, not seeing or throwing to WRs. 7 years of nfl experience...its probably going to get better real soon. Hang in there.
