All of these “gruesome” revelations are “entirely false,” says Kevin Roose in a disturbing column in the New York Times. "In Google’s case, trolls from 4Chan, a notoriously toxic online message board with a vocal far-right contingent, had spent the night scheming about how to pin the shooting on liberals. One of their discussion threads, in which they wrongly identified the gunman, was picked up by Google’s 'top stories' module, and spent hours at the top of the site’s search results for that man’s name." "In Facebook’s case, an official 'safety check’'page for the Las Vegas shooting prominently displayed a post from a site called 'Alt-Right News.' The post incorrectly identified the shooter and described him as a Trump-hating liberal. In addition, some users saw a story on a 'trending topic' page on Facebook for the shooting that was published by Sputnik, a news agency controlled by the Russian government. It took a while to find it. Now the initial video of the car driving around close to the hotel is pretty much useless but I did find the location and its near the entrance just below the shooters position on the 32nd floor. The real question is if the shots also came from the 4th floor how did they open the window. Looking at the google maps streetview from the S. Las Vegas Blvd on the same sight-line, zoomed in on the 4th floor, it does not appear to have windows that could open. The video is bull**** conspiracy theory craziness and there are way too many people out there that will buy into it. Its just flashing lights reflecting off the glass. They believe it was a strobe light in the window. There's another video from 2 hours before the shooting that shows that same flashing light in that same window and a police officer confirms that there is some type of strobe light flashing in a 4th floor window. Plus, like bdutton said, the windows don't open and it wasn't broken out like the shooter's windows on the 32nd floor. One thing that makes me very nervous about traveling with my guns... I shoot in competitions around the country and its been normal for me to walk into the hotel lobby with a gun case and check in. I think you could almost drag a dead body through the hotel without incident. Parking garage is attached, he doesn't even have to go to through the lobby.
