It sounds like the injury is minor and he has 10 days to heal...these young guys heal like Wolverine. I was happy to see him starting to assert himself increasingly over the past 3 games. I think they are saying that he does not have the most compact stride. Which is true, but such a minor issue it barely warrants discussion. Zay is now making big improvements and hopefully the injury doesnt set him back. Loved the pick when it was made, and still do. And that play by Skrine was bush league. He has always sucked. He's got a lot of work to do to smooth out his game as a WR..........hands have been the focus but he's also struggled with route running all season..........the "drop" in Carolina was also a stumble that caused him to take a bad path......the mistimed jump on the drop of a deep sideline throw by Taylor was a level of mistake you rarely see from an NFL WR. Why they hired his WR coach from ECU I don't know. Seems like a different set of eyes on Zay would have been appropriate if he's still struggling with basics. Bills Fan of St Augustine Posted November 3, 2017 Share Posted November 3, 2017 For the NFL, Jones is a polished wideout who should be able to compete quickly. He has good hands and is very reliable to secure the ball. Additioanlly, he has very good technique to snatch the ball out of the air with his hands and secure it. There is no doubt that Jones is a quality route-runner and doesn't have wasted steps or get sloppy with his body control. Jones has a quick release off the line and is sudden in and out of his breaks. Because of that, Jones is dependable to generate separation and get open for his quarterback. Jones is quick and uses his size well in the open field to get yards after the catch, too. He is also very good at tracking the ball and has late hands to reel the ball in. While Jones isn't a burner, he is a threat to challenge teams over the top with his quickness and ability to make difficult catches. This is who we got, give him time and he will be an excellent #2 WR. I think Matthews is a rental and KB/ZJ will be our tandem going forward. Do you think that it is out of line though for fans to expect a borderline 1st round pick to be graded out higher than the worst WR in the NFL? That’s where he was earlier in the year. He is certainly worth investing the time in but he wasn’t wrongly criticized either. He’s shown signs of being the player that they had hoped for. Page 16 of this thread people were still calling him a bust. Why did most of those "critics" stop posting ?? crow stuck in their throat?
