You can't make this crap up...

Navy builds most expensive surface combatant ever.

Navy puts two guns of a brand new "Advanced Gun System" design on the ship. Gun serves one purpose - long-range land attack - and fires only one kind of shell - the "Long Range Land Attack Projectile" (LRLAP).

Navy builds and launches ship.

Now that ship is launched, Navy decides the ammunition for the guns - the only ammo the guns fire - is too expensive to buy at $800,000 per shell. And cancels entire billion-dollar LRLAP program.

So the $4B USS Zumwalt, just launched, with two of the most advanced guns ever afloat, has nothing to shoot.

Man, you guys are really slipping.

The only reason this was held up was to wait for Hillary to get sworn in, at which time the government will approve the purchase of the ammo once the appropriate 'donations' are made to the Clinton Foundation.

Just two more months before America is open for business again.
