In fact, I think his father was a professional soccer player. That may be the best defense, but it still isn't very good. I played soccer growing up, and my playing style earned me more than my fair share of cards. I never intentionally kicked anyone in the knee though, and certainly didn't have an "instinct" to do so. With a possible suspension for a repeat offender, especially if it contributed to the knee injury to one of the game's stars.
