Here are my five takes on the #Bills-#Dolphins Game. NEW at BN Blitz: https://t.co/3Nkmgm9u9G

Here are my five takes on the Buffalo Bills' game against the Miami Dolphins Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium:

1. Continue to slam the door against the run.

2. Don't let Ryan Tannehill make plays outside of the pocket.

3. Turn McCoy loose ... again.

4. Tyrod Taylor makes some big plays while being efficient.

5. Maintain razor-sharp focus

Bobby Woods is on Sirius...just confirmed the Bills are running Roman's offense...guys are just locked in and playing fast. It's obvious they don't want to criticize Roman but like the way ALynn is calling the game.

No question that they're still using Roman's play design--you can see it in the way the OL is moving around and the variety of attack points in the blocking sets.

What Lynn has done is thin the playbook down to the things we do well--very Belichick-like in that way.

No. 3 is brilliant....I never would have thought of that

The Dolphins are likely to go heavy against the run at the start so if the Bills open the game with a run-first look, it might be a great time to hit them with play action. A couple of big gains, maybe even a TD, right away would mess with the Fins minds.

Criminy. Maybe I should pursue a career in sports journalism.

1. Make your guy run well and their guys run not so well.

2. Make your quarterback make good plays and the other one not as many good plays.

3. Play well!

Thanks, Vic.

4. Above all else, be accountable.

Through Week 5 (week 6 not updated yet) on Football Outsiders:

MIA Offense

-18.7% Pass DVOA (rank: 31st)

-2.2% Rush DVOA (rank: 12th)

MIA Defense

15.8% Pass DVOA (rank: 21st)

-6.9% Rush DVOA (rank: 18th)

BUF Offense

10.8% Pass DVOA (rank: 17th)

4.2% Rush DVOA (rank: 6th)

BUF Defense

4.1% Pass DVOA (rank: 15th)

-16.6% Rush DVOA (rank: 11th)

That's actually a *lot* closer than I expected. As usual, our advantage on offense should be the running game, but they match up better with us than SF does. For defense, we match up slightly better than them across the board but their offense isn't as bad as I thought it would be.

By the numbers, it scares me a little bit. I think this is going to be a closer game than a lot of us think it will be, and will definitely be tougher than San Francisco was for us. We'll need another big Rushing Game with some timely passes to win.

How is this close??

Difference in rankings:

MIA Run O vs BUF Run D: 1 spot

BUF Run O vs MIA Run D: 12 Spots

MIA Pass O vs BUF Pass D: 16 Spots

BUF Pass O vs MIA Pass D: 6 Spots

Average rank difference in matchups: 8.75.

I expected the difference to be larger than 9 spots on average.

I guess. We are better than them across the board in pretty much every statistical category. So in my opinion thats not close. We are not a top 3-5 team either so im not expecting ridiculously lopsided numbers vs anyone.

What would our number be vs the Pats for example?

What's more important are points allowed, points scored, red zone defense, red zone offense and turnover differential. Lots of the stats that you are citing are largely done in between the 20's, which Buffalo still has the advantage over Miami in that regards but as you know what matters most is getting in and keeping them out of endzone.

We're actually #3 in the NFL now in DVOA with the updated numbers today. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teameff
