It blows my mind how many people actually are bothered by this. There are millions of slobs who turn the anthem or don't stand up for it when they watch the games at home. Personally, I think it is disrespectful but I can't imagine caring if someone else didn't. It's disrespectful , yes. But his reason for doing it is what makes me care so much because it's a lie unsubstantiated by facts. Example: Schopp has been railing on this for an hour and a half now. He thinks it's BAD for people to burn colin kaepernick's jersey. Why, exactly? Are they actually burning colin kaepernick when they do it? Or how about the person who heckles him? Are his first amendment rights somehow less sacred? Schopp proved he is an idiot with those statements . What if someone disagrees with his message and believe it stereotypes cops and perpetuates a myth that somehow a few Police shootings are evidence of racial injustice. The only thing they are evidence of is that when in a situation with Police it is very serious and they should be treated with respect and instructions should be followed. If you do not, it could turn tragic . Schopp is a clown for thinking someone has no right to be on the other side of Kaep's issue and protest as they see fit. It works both ways. However, I respect his right to sit, stand, kneel, shout, cry, boo, or whatever he chooses to do during the national anthem. I also respect HIM for respecting THOSE AROUND HIM by choosing to very silently, and with no movement, protest. I always remove my hat (even when I'm in my house). I always stand. I always put my hand on my heart. If someone was next to me, choosing to boo loudly, or make a spectacle against the national anthem .. then I would likely say something. If someone next to me quietly decided to not stand, then I would respect that person's rights. We're on the same page more than you may have thought. I just think that the way Kaep went about it was very respectful to those around him. You know I don't always agree with what you say but I have a tremendous amount Of respect for both you and your willingness to communicate. Good on ya. That almost certainly wouldn't have been shot if they had listened to simple instructions. He should maybe think about pointing out the injustice in thousands of unsolved homicides committed by people of color against one another. There are far more of those in our country and he doesn't seem to be outraged over them. Exactly , some 350-400 ( the other half are white/ Hispanic) shootings per year in a country of 340 million is hardly an epidemic. It's a media created narrative designed to shill for Clinton. And he's so ignorant on the paid leave because he thinks that is " punishment". When it is to get the Officer off the beat until it is determined whether or not they acted in the scope of their training and the action was justified or not . Kaep is really a moron. I am sorry you do not get that. He can say it is not about the flag all he wants but his actions do more to anger those who have lost loved ones defending this country than help with a cause. I have no problem with the cause. I have a problem with the method. This is our country and honoring those who made it possible for us to have the freedom we enjoy is not something we should take lightly.
