Bills power rankings

It's so early to determine how good a team is based on their record after 4 weeks. Can New Orleans, Arizona, Indy and Carolina really suck? Can the Rams really be good?

I don't know. These power rankings, for the most part, are shots in the dark, IMO.

Yes on the bold for sure. Those might be the 2 worst rosters in the NFL outside of QB. Their rosters are as bad as Cleveland and San Francisco. Even great QB play will get the Saints to MAYBE 6 wins. They stink

1.DEN Now Kubiak has 2young QB who can push ball downfield w/accuracy to complement strong run game

19. Buffalo (23)
Arizona may not be the team we thought they were, New England was under-manned. Nice wins for this team, but they’ll have to keep proving themselves this week against a Rams teams that’s won three straight.

I'm not sure how under-manned NE defense was, but in general this seems fair.

14. Buffalo (2-2) | Last week: 22
Nobody brags like Rex Ryan. He’s got bragging rights after beating Arizona and New England. Now he’s playing the Rams.

19 Feels much more appropriate than 14 I would say. If they beat LA, then I could see them moving up near 14. And once or if the Bills beat another contender other than Arizona, then they will deserve to move into the top 12 or so. Just my opinion.

Conspicuously absent from that article is an explanation of how they throw a handful of chicken bones onto a table with the NFL logo crudely scrawled in blood while incanting, "IDRABMOL ECNIV."

They aren't shots in the dark, they are rankings of the teams going into the next week. Where they are based off of wha they did the week Prior. They don't really predict anything. Edited by Beef Jerky

12 Buffalo Bills

Last Week: 20
Record: 2–2
When he is healthy and engaged in an offense, LeSean McCoy is right up there with Le’Veon Bell and the NFL’s most exciting backs to watch. He runs in the open field like he’s slaloming down a ski hill, just darting side to side avoiding obstacles.

Our Quarter-season Power Poll is up and mounds of assumptions have been destroyed http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000715714/article/atnfls-quarterseason-power-poll

Back-to-back wins have lifted the Bills to the group's No. 19 spot, but Wesseling isn't buying what Rex Ryan is selling, placing them 24th on his list. Then there's -- that's right -- Conor Orr, who put the Bills up at No. 12, in what amounts to a predicted playoff run in Western New York.

Wesseling is a goon and he's very skeptical of the Bills.

ICYMI: Week 4 NFL Power Rankings — #Bears, #Browns & #Dolphins fight to stay out of No. 32. #Steelers back in top 5

https://t.co/39tfvEkJga

17. Buffalo Bills (2-2) Last Week: 21

The key with any Rex Ryan team is to never get too excited by any one win or surprised by any one loss. That’s why, even after a rare (like Mewtwo rare) home shutout over the Patriots, Rex’s Bills only receive a modest bump. Now, if this team can continue it’s impressive streak for a few more weeks, especially without much of anything in the way of pass-catching talent, then it’ll be time to consider it for a spot in the top 10.

@PFF

Broncos No. 1, Cowboys on the rise in PFF's NFL Power Rankings for Week 5 http://pffoc.us/2dKrqWQ

The Pro Football Focus Power Rankings represent how every NFL team ranks overall to this point in the season, based on PFF’s grading of every player on every play of every game. It factors in offense, defense, and special teams, but does not factor in coaching and scheme, which may result in some teams playing better than the sum of their parts. It does not take into account things like team record, injuries or playoff odds, and is a measure of a team’s performance at this point of the season.

Bills are listed as #11 overall with the offense at #23 and the defense at #4.

This is IMO a very fair and accurate ranking and assessment of where we are at.

What the outside world sees: We beat a Cardinals team that in week 2 looked like the SB contender they were supposed to be, but in weeks 1, 3 and 4 looked like a team with major struggles...so its hard gauge the quality of that win since we don't really know if it was more us dominating them or them in a funk. Then the NE win has its obvious asterisk of a 3rd string QB and a hobbled Gronk. So while the win was fantastic, its hard to gauge what would have happened if even Jimmy played let alone Brady. There were wide open throws missed that Jimmy most likely hits given his short on field resume of looking pretty good. Who knows if 16 points would have been enough to win that game. Now add that into the loss of Sammy leaving us with a marginal at best WR group, and there are questions around our ability to keep winning.

My personal assessment...this team has looked very good for 2 straight weeks against at the very least 2 quality opponents and deserves some credit for those wins because regardless of either their struggles or who they were missing they were still tough opponents. However, given the issues around AZ and NE we must keep a level head about those wins before we get ahead of ourselves. The real test is going to be this next 3 weeks against lesser competition...can this team keep playing as inspired and fired up as it has been against the Rams, Niners, and Fins before we see the Pats again. We really should go 3-0 during this stretch, and I suspect if we do then we will see the Bills in the top 10 when we see Brady in Buffalo the week after that stretch.

And first up is the Rams...not as good as the 3-1 record, but also a dangerous opponent with that sick DL. The Rams offense has struggled all year, so if we can put some points up then it will be hard for them to keep up. But if its a close game, then the Rams chances rise significantly, especially with an unreliable kicker in Carpenter here.
