Report: Fitzy to hit the market

Recommended Posts

People are still arguing the pros and cons of Fitzpatrick? He's a low end starting QB.When he needs to make plays at the end of the game that will either mean victory or defeat he fails far far more often than he succeeds.

I don't care how many TDs he managed last year a team isn't going anywhere with that guy at the helm.

Suprised Fitz wouldn't stay with gailey, they must have really low balled him.

Maybe Fritz is looking for another team to start for to have record.

Different offensive philosophies yield different numbers. Fitz showed everything he is and isn't in the season finale at the Ralph. He certainly did not impress Jets' owner Woody Johnson. He's still a bum!

Expect if he thought he was a bum they would never have attempted to resign him.

Likely the Jets are asking for an incentive based contract which Fritz can only get the money IFF he remains starter and has great numbers but otherwise is paid a lot less.

The should resign from him and find another QB.

If I was Denver Id seriosuly consider Fitz. Hes an average QB but with that D and considering who else is out there, hes good enough to make another run at the title.

John Elway is much too good of a football guy to even think about this.

If some is "a good football guy" you assume they agree with your perspective? Fitz is, sadly, better than anybody available. Id take him, this season, over oswellier in a heartbeat. What his agent is pricing his services at is the issue.

You would be fired very quickly for choosing a 33 year old journeyman with one good year vs a potential franchise guy who played fairly well last year

Agreed. If I were fitz, I would jump at the Broncos if they came calling.

According to many posters Manning was absolutely terrible so any QB could have won that Superbowl. I disagree, there were things Manning did with voice and recognizing defenses that other starting QBs still can not do which made difference in game.

Football is a zero sum game with borrowing on future (sort of like National debt); if Broncos can not preserve enough of defense to stay competitive they will have same issue they had with first Superbowl with Manning. If the 7 start QB is getting offers of +15K a year they may need to consider other options including flawed QBs like Fritz.

No. It means he wouldn't want a lousy QB with a penchant for choking in big moments as the QB of his playoff caliber team. Fitz > Osweiler? OK. Whatever you say.

It's so funny that Bills fans can look down their noses at 31 tds and 10 wins. It's probably because we are loaded with them recently.

31 tds and 10 wins = bum. 20 tds and 8 wins = franchise qb. Makes sense.

It's so funny that you think either of those numbers is from the qb and the qb alone.

Passing stats are based heavily on scheme. Tyrod played in 2 fewer games than Fitz and attempted 182 fewer passes than Fitz.

Fitz: 562 Att, 3905 Yards, 31 TDs, 15 INTs

Taylor: 380 Att, 3035 Yards, 20 TDs, 6 INTs

If you scale Tyrod up to Fitz's attempts (unreasonable) his stats are 4488 yards, 29.5 TDs, 9 INTs

If you scale Fitz down to Tyrod's attempts his stats are 2640 Yards, 21 TDs, 10 INTs

All in all your base of criticism for people who appreciated what our QB did and call Fitz a backup is simplified to the point that it makes no sense. There are many many factors involved in both TDs and Wins besides the QB himself. But hey, let's consider the QB in a vacuum. Makes sense.

You can hear the the groans of Jimmy Spags as he comes to the realization that Geno is his starting QB again. Lol

It must be painful to be a jets fan right now. Though not sure that Bills fans won't be crying right there with them. The Bills cap situation is not pretty.
