It seems their official explanation is that Ryan got in his way and distracted him into whistling. Expect them to fine Rex and pass off the "makeup yards" under the "palpably unfair act" rule. Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted November 24, 2015 Share Posted November 24, 2015 Is it the same ruling as when there's a whistle on a running play where progress appeared to be stopped, the ref blows the whistle at about the same instant the ball comes loose.
