Why is everyone assuming that getting rid of Cassel was strictly Whaley's call? Yes, he's the GM but they frequently are influenced heavily by the preferences of the head coach and at times the owner (D. Snyder). Whoever made the decision made a mistake at the time, which a number of us said. And whoever said EJ could be an effective NFL quarterback were clearly mistaken, which a number of us also said at the time.

Whatever Cassel does in this game is irrelevant. His last few years in the NFL he has shown nothing. He and EJ are pretty much the same level.

 

Cassel probably has a slightly higher floor, EJ was younger with assumed more upside. They both are terrible.

 

How about this? Name the backup QB's that won for their team today.

Bolded is far from fact. Especially given Cassel's play today.
