"There's a difference between coming out ready to go, fired up ready to play and coming out and being totally without poise, without focus, and a lot of stupid, idiotic stuff" Williams told reporters after the contest. "That plays right in their hands. If you have no poise, no focus you get caught up in all the BS, thats what they do," referring to the Patriots taking advantage of the Bills penalties. "We did that especially in the first half."

Kyle is spot on of course, but to what extent does Rex's coaching and pregame talk have something to do with it? In general, championship athletes who rise to the big occasion are the ones who channel their emotions into preparation and settle their nerves with "on task, do your job first"

Rex's big mouth all week and the teams lack of focus and preparedness is 100% on Ryan. Hopefully he as well as the rest of the team learns from that embarrassment.

its a new roster for him, top to bottom. he will hopefully learn that these guys will show up amped up without his riling them up like crazy. if anything, several guys will need to be reeled in on big games.

Kyle's absolutely correct and I'm glad he's calling out his teammates. Now let's see how they respond.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yes. He's right on point. I hope he stays a Bill in spite of the capologists wanting to cut him to save a few million.

a few others on the line need to renegotiate their contracts to save a few million

Hopefully it's a good wake-up call for the defense to not buy into their own hype. Also maybe Rex can learn and gear up and coach better the rest of the way. It can be a good long term thing for a team to get smacked early. Let's be honest when a lot of us looked at the Bills schedule weeks 1 and 2 and saw the Colts and the Pats* a split of those games would have been more than acceptable. If they come in and smack the Fins around then the season starts to snap into being.

These aren't 19 year old college kids; these are grown men being paid millions to act and play like professionals. Blaming Rex is way too convenient an excuse for the actions of guys like A Williams.

Yup...better to get knocked down a peg or two early.

There are some true idiots on this roster, a number of whom are otherwise very good players. Jerry Hughes and Aaron Williams are at the top of the list: they're very good players and total knuckleheads who cannot seem to control themselves in critical moments. Hughes didn't get flagged yesterday (unlike Week 1) but was jawing with the refs throughout the entire game. He was especially incensed with the sideline judge on the Patriots' side, and kept pointing at him and mouthing off. Aaron Williams took two terrible penalties before his injury, and we've seen that before from him. Ron Brooks is also a moron - he punched a Colts player in the face last week and always seems to be unhinged.

The word you always hear after a NE game is "execute"; as in, 'how do they always execute so well'? And this is the answer. They don't employ guys who can't focus on the task and who can't control their emotions any better than a teenage girl, regardless of skill set.
