I don't think there's any deeper meaning here -- and this certainly isn't anywhere near 'rape'. Seven years isn't that big an age difference. You put young, horny people in close proximity and sometimes they are going to !@#$, regardless of any supervisor/subordinate relationship. When the chick is 40, that's another story.
