Kellyto83TD
Now if he can come in, and EJ go down say Game 3 and Orton get us into the playoffs...
machine gun kelly
I could live with Ortin, but Gerrard is washed up. Too many back injuries, etc.
NewEra
Orton should be our starter at this point
26CornerBlitz
Orton would make an excellent backup and mentor to EJ.
1billsnut
Orton should be our starter at this point  Its funny because its true. (Ouch) Edited August 29, 2014 by 1billsnut
Spillnation
Orton would make an excellent backup and mentor to EJ. After the unprofessional s***w job he pulled in Dallas. You want him here and think he'd be a great mentor. Wow.. the desperation has set in soo early this year. Bummer.
Uncle Monkeyhead
He resembles Dave Grohl at times when he doesn't shave.....if he could QB half as good as Dave drums, then we would be all set at QB
bbb
If he looks like Dave Grohl, he'll never see the receivers because his hair will be in his eyes.

Nick the Greek
Why do people keep throwing around names of QBs we have heard of? Â How you learned anyting yet? Our backups are total no namers. Jeff Tuel? Thad? Palmer you say? Yea we got the wrong one! Â I expect we get some guy that's on one ones radar, like someone who played ball at St John Fisher. You will be surprised!! NoSaint
Some of you cleary forget orton has a career 58% completion rate. I'd take him but he's not some savior

Fan in Chicago
This is how low we've sunk. Â Do you say that because you are happy with our QB situation or because you think there is a better alternative out there? Â Some of you cleary forget orton has a career 58% completion rate. I'd take him but he's not some savior At this point I will settle for 'solid insurance' Â After the unprofessional s***w job he pulled in Dallas. You want him here and think he'd be a great mentor. Wow.. the desperation has set in soo early this year. Bummer. Â Honest question- what did he do in Dallas that makes you say that?

I'm all for insurance but think the "he'd be our starter and we'd be playoff bound and everything would be solved" crowd are overstating him. He'd be a bit like picking up fitz. Nice to have at 2, frustrating at 1 but can handle a few games if needed Edited August 29, 2014 by NoSaint

1st&ten
Let's trade for Tararis Jackson from Seattle. Not too bad a player, he could probably be had for a 3rd round pick !!!!
FluffHead
I don't think Orton wants to play football. My money is on Ponder or Mallet
3rdand12
At this point its a reasonable idea . Solid Insurance .And something must be done to stabilize the QB stable. Edited August 29, 2014 by 3rdand12
machine gun kelly
Belicheck would want a trade and we already don't have our #1 pick. We can't afford any trades at this point. We can only pick up people released and we don't have to assume contracts so we can negotiate freely with the agent.
