What is better, no guns, or more guns?

Anyone here live in Arkansas?

Krissy Noble killed a man in self-defense: legal, courts say. But she used her husband's gun. Cue the prosecution.

Last December, while 11 weeks pregnant, Krissy Noble was attacked in her Arkansas home by an intruder. The intruder had come by the apartment earlier, asking for her husband, but she didn’t know him. On checking, she found out that her husband did not know the man, either; it later turned out that the name he gave Noble was false. When he came by again, she was on the phone with her husband, who said that he would send a neighbor to check out the situation. At the door, however, she was tackled and punched. Breaking free, and fearing for her life — and that of her child — she grabbed her husband’s pistol, which she had placed on the coffee table after the first suspicious visit , and shot the man three times. Then she ran to the neighbor’s apartment and told her to call 911.

That is an absolutely horrifying attempt at a gross miscarriage of justice.

Whomever advanced the decision to prosecute, and everyone who signed off, should have a mob with pitchforks and torches on their front lawn.

And just think...by this precedent, if the attacker had a gun, and she's wrestled it away from him and shot him, she'd still be guilty of illegal possession of a firearm.

I can't imagine a jury convicting her on this.

That would be a fun plea negotiation with the DA: "Either dismiss the charges and stop hassling this woman, or I'll humiliate you in front of a jury, then hold a press conference to make fun of you further after the acquittal."

I’m a “guns guy” and that’s a complex issue, man.

I don’t want some untrained jackass shooting down a corridor, especially if the halls are made of cinderblock/brick as is the case in many schools.

I think most people are too stupid to carry in a school.

Here is a "wonderful" story:

https://amp.slate.com/news-and-politics/2018/09/botham-shem-jean-shooting-dallas-cop-kills-neighbor-after-going-into-his-apartment-thinking-it-was-her-own.html

Just hang out @ your pad and get killed by a confused cop.  The brightest and finest!

"In a very case that still seems to have a lot of open questions, a Dallas police officer will be facing manslaughter charges after she shot and killed a 26-year-old man in his own apartment. The officer, who has not been identified, thought she had gone into her own apartment when she had actually gone into her neighbor’s home and apparently thought he was an intruder."

Oh, I remember when that picture was taken. It was a commercial Barry was in. He was standing on the side of the road and a passing car threw trash out the window and it landed by his feet.

Funny as **** because, for those who don't know, the character in that commercial was played by an Italian.

That she was a cop is incidental to the story.

And the charges are entirely appropriate.

Might not be.  Working a full shift, possibly with the pukes of the world, lowest of low and having to deal with them.  She may have been on edge.  Tapped out... Stressed out.

Yeah... I want to see it that way.  Hell of a precedent if it isn't irrelevant.  But humans aren't RoboCops. Stresses cause humans to breakdown, make mistakes.  Like "thinking about seeing family and friends ever again."  Then those thoughts while doing the job should be irrelevant.

The fact she’s a cop is VERY concerning. I’ve been saying for years cops need higher standards and higher pay. Kinda hard to argue with me when they do crap like this.

A girl i used to date in high school — her brother heard a noise in his kitchen and went to check it out. 3 of “Atlanta’s finest.” They shot him in the leg and killed his dog because they not only went to the wrong house but they let themselves in through an unlocked door. Retarded cops are a very real thing and very concerning.

Itd be cool if their standards weren’t the same as Walmart’s.

And so her tiny woman brain couldn’t figure out which apartment was hers?

I mean in my most unsober of states ive never messed that up. She was sober. A man lost his life because of woman and her tiny brain. Sad.

That's what it says.  She just finished full shift, still wearing uni.  I hope she wasn't bending the elbow in uniform?

She sees a Caribbean (from St.Lucia what it says) man in "her" apartment and goes off.  I assume she rattled door, got key stuck... Then he opened?  How did she get in?  Doesn't she know her neighbors?

The stresses of the job will play heavily on this case.  Again, not Robo Dr. Spock's.

She’s an idiot. I wouldn’t make that mistake drunk. I hope she gets nothing less than 30 years. But that’s me being hopeful.

LOCK HER UP! LOCK HER UP!
