I think this is so overstated by people who don't go to games. I've had season tickets since 2001 and have seen someone throw up once, in the parking lot before the game. Drunks - yes, there are drunks. Most are harmless. Once a season, one of them really gets on my nerves. But, a quick wave to the usher and problems are solved. Violence? I don't recall seeing a fight at a Bills game in a few years. Some arguing and shoving and such, but no actual violence.

Multiple Reports : Pegula IS the new owner
Maddog69 replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Russ has done an excellent job with the Bills through a very difficult time and I would be shocked if he was not retained in some way with the Pegula Sports and Entertainment empire. -
I feel like this weeks game (and many other recent games) are proof of the old saying "the QB gets too much credit for wins and too much blame for losses". Orton was not the reason we won. He did just enough to squeak out a victory that happened because the defense was amazing and Detroit's kicker was horrible. Orton's day was proof that, with a great defense and some luck, you don't need Peyton Manning at QB to win in the watered down NFL. A veteran like Orton should be able and should be expected to take this team to the playoffs.

Watching the game Sunday was very similar to watching the games with EJ. Most of the plays were short throws or dump off and most were inaccurate. Orton made a few nice throws downfield and a Beautiful deep ball to Marquise. I feel like the difference in the game was the play of everyone around Orton. He seemed to bring confidence to the offense. Sammy made catches he wasn't making last week and so did the other receivers. Whatever the reason, it worked. Let's hope it continues. I still have belief that EJ can be decent, but I'm hoping Orton plays well enough that we never have to find out (atleast not this year). I'm on the New England.

This is pretty much how I feel about it as well. I'm guessing Schwartz did it to stick it to Detroit ownership/management for firing him.

This Sunday, against the New England Patriots....
Maddog69 replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a big game for many obvious reasons and a win would be HUGE for the Bills playoff chances. My thinking is that a win would help more than a loss would hurt. I know that sounds stupid. What I mean is that a win would put the Bills in first place alone and would put them in control of their own destiny. Our schedule over the next 6 weeks is much more friendly than NE's. I win would put us in a great spot. That being said, a loss would not be a season ender. Still plenty of time left in the year with plenty of winnable games on the schedule and only trailing NE by 1 game. It is very possible that we win 1-2 more games than them over the remaining 10 weeks. So, I am hoping the Bills take advantage of their momentum off the bid win in Detroit and the beginning of the Pegula Era to send New England out of Buffalo with an embarrassing defeat. -
Will Schwartz be a Head Coach next year?
Maddog69 replied to SageAgainstTheMachine's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would expect it to take another couple years before he gets a second chance. I could definitely see him as our Interim HC if the wheels fall off this year and Marrone gets the boot. -
He may take some time to adjust to the new rules in the NFL for illegal contact (not necessarily new rules, but more flags). So this might work to our advantage to try to throw to guys he's covering to draw flags if the completion can't be made.

I think that any team going into Foxboro last night after the week the Patriots had with the media was in for a tough night. The Pats, especially Belichick and Brady were angry and you knew they would respond. Whether they can sustain it is another question. I think they fired the best shot they had in an effort to silence critics, but I believe everybody knows that the end of their dominance of the AFC East is here. This game is our chance to smack them a little further down and stake our claim to the division. Hopefully the Bills rise to the opportunity.

I disagree. Signed, Aaron Rodgers

Stop already with the Boobie Dixon nonsense...
Maddog69 replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
given Spiller's lack of success running the ball this year, especially up the middle and Dixon's 47 yarder on limited touches, it does seem to make sense to give him a few more tries. Lot's of people seem to make excuses for Spiller but others are getting the job done behind the same line and running the same plays. Freddy consistently outperforms Spiller and it would be interesting to see what a bigger back like Dixon can do with more touches. (P.S. - I would also love to see what Bryce Brown can do. His speed is impressive). Coach Marrone talks about playing the players that give the most "production from the position". If that's the case, lets see Dixon get a shot when Spiller is only giving 2yrs a run. -

Is it actually a crime to do this? It is a completely d-bag move, for sure. And I'm sure teams have rules in the fan code of conduct against it, but it would be surprising to me if there are actually laws against pointing a laser pointer at someone or in their general vicinity (other than the laws about shining that at commercial airplanes.

Article- Reality Check: Is EJ Manuel a Bust?
Maddog69 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We'll see. Like I said, he's played one game. Wait until he plays some tough road games against teams that have NFL tape on him. I'm not saying he won't be good. I'm just saying it's one game. Kirk Cousins has a good first game too. Then he played more. -

I would rather listen to an argument from somebody who provide stats and facts to support their argument than somebody who uses fictitious hyperbole. I don't know which side is right but the one providing the actual facts seems more convincing. -
2 DUI's puts in him the NFL substance abuse program which I assume carries a requirement that he stay away from alcohol. He did not, therefore, suspension.

You realize how stupid this is, right? Blaming the EJ sucks threads on the people who support him. You clearly have made up your mind that EJ will never be good. That's fine. But since he is still quite young and has only played 14 games behind a fairly bad OL and with coaches who are in over their head's, it is far to early to make that determination. Those people who are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt are responding to the idiocy of the EJ sucks crowd, they are not the cause of it. -

not sure I would say QB is the only position that's a question mark. Our OL has been sub par at best, we have no real TE and our LB's are still a big question mark especially in pass coverage. -
Bring back Jordan Palmer, sign Jesse Palmer, Arnold Palmer and Jim Palmer. Let them battle it out.

lets bring back Hamdan or Billy Jo Hobert.
