  1. In my opinion, this is the biggest game we've had in a very very long time. We are currently tied or first in the AFCE at 3-2, with no one other then the very team that has marked us off as an automatic 2 w's, every year since 2001. But things feel different this time around. After dominating pretty much everyone in the division for over a decade now, you can (maybe) feel that slowly but surely the evil empire is collapsing. Now, we're coming off an emotional, improbable win on the road. The Pats* are coming into OUR house, where it's going to be loud as all hell, marking our transition into the Pegula era. This is our chance to prove that the tides have turned and its not their division anymore. Talk about a statement game, that would be an understatement. Unlike previous years, where good starts were mere apparitions, this is a talented frickin football team. Any you bet that the coaching staff and players know that. I'll be making the trip down from Toronto this Sunday, and I expect a crazy atmosphere. A win this week would give us a temporary stranglehold on the division, but more importantly, send a message to the rest of the NFL that the Bills are back. GO BILLS!
  2. Today will be something special. I think its the day where we welcome ourselves back to the NFL. However, we shall see... Go Bills!
  3. Listen folks, today we all came back to reality after last weeks win. What did we realize? - We have a rookie QB who will take some time to develop into a franchise guy - You can't win in this league without NFL-caliber corners/safeties - We NEED Byrd and Gilmore back ASAP - Marcel Dareus will probably never live up to his draft status - Injuries kill this team every year - We have a major hole at LG on the o-line - Spiller will not avg 6 yds a carry this year - This team will be fighting to stay out of the AFC East basement this season There are some very nice pieces to build around here in Buffalo. However, this will not happen overnight. This is what we learned today.
  4. Hey Bills fans! Something has been on my mind recently regarding the future of this team in Buffalo and I would like to hear your opinions as well. Outlining the situation, we have a 94 year old owner who is nearing the end of his life. When he passes, he has clearly stated that the team will be sold to the highest bidder. Now, we all know the LA group has already begun building a billion-dollar stadium, and are looking for a team to relocate. If Ralph passes before another team can be bought out by this LA ownership group, I think this team is in grave danger of being moved to LA. In that case, I highly doubt any local group would be able to outbid this multi-billion dollar ownership LA ownership group who have clearly stated that they want and will move a team to LA. Saying this, do you believe that even when Ralph passes, our future will be secure? I certainly don't believe our team deserves to go anywhere. We are the most loyal fanbase in the NFL, and I would personally be heartbroken if this were to happen. Anyway, have at it! Go Bills!
  5. Lets start off with the positives: - CJ Spiller: What more can you say about this kid, besides the fact that he's still not getting the ball enough. Watching him develop from his rookie year has been a thing of beauty. His elite speed, vision and agility truly make him one of the best backs in the NFL, and it was on full display today. - Fitzpatrick: Fitzy played a very good game today, and has been playing better as of late. He was accurate for most of the day and made good decisions (most of the time). The one bad decision, however, cost us the game. Yes, TJ was expected to cut in front of the defender. However, why go to your rookie with the game on the line when you have 4 guys (Chandler, Jones, Stevie, Spiller) who NE was unable to stop the whole game?! Stevie and CJ were both open on that play. You can't put the loss on Fitzpatrick, however. He did his part, outplaying Brady. The Defense did not. - Donald Jones: The kid is turning into a solid WR in this league. Like CJ, he's had growing pains, but another solid day for Donald, and I think he has a good future ahead of him. Saying that, he needs to be resigned this offseason along with Byrd and Levitre. Kyle Williams: Only guy on the defense that plays with fire for 60 minutes Offensive Line: Held up very well in protection for the most part, and created holes in the run game. Stevie: Solid day for him, as he went 6 for 86. Overall team: played with heart until the very end, just did not make the final play to win the game. If we played this way against NYJ, NE the first time and SF, the season may have been a lot different. Negatives: Chan: 9 carries for CJ and 16 for Freddy. I LOVE Freddy, I really do, but CJ is clearly the better back. Giving Fred almost double the carries is stupid and doesn't help our chances. Dareus: I am really dissapointed with the play of Marcel this year. I thought after last year, and being with talented guys around him, he could turn into a start. He looks way out of shape and not fully into the game every snap. Very disappointing considering his draft status. LB Corps: Again, non existent in the run game. Even Barnett is having a bad year. I don't remember seeing one good play from Sheppard or Bradham. This is a unit that needs fixing in the off-season Justin Rogers: Guy can't cover anyone, he needs to sit Mario Williams: Played the run well, and did seem more upbeat than in the beginning of they year. Still, he has yet to make a game-changing play on defense, and failed to sack Brady once this year
  6. CJ, Fjax, Stevie and Donald is turning into a nice WR.
  7. Still 8 games left and a chance to get back in it next week. You can bet the boys will come fired up considering what NE did to us on our home field.
  8. It starts with 2 mental mistakes on defense, the first being the long pass to Daniels for a touchdown, where Bradham got faked out by the Play Action and completely lost his man. The second being the long gain to A.Johnson, where Williams did not look back for the ball. Had he, it would've fallen right into his hands for a pick. However, the main reason we lost this game was Chain Gailey. Let me start off with saying we ran the ball 12 times. Yes, we are 4th in the NFL in rushing and he ran 12 times with two great RB's in a close game. And it's not like we were getting stuffed everytime we ran the ball either, as Spiller and Jackson had some very nice runs. This is simply unacceptable. Also, 4 times we were inside Houston's 20, and only came away with 9 points. We did not take one shot into the endzone, which tells me this: Either Chan is completely inept, or he has no confidence in Fitzpatrick and/or the Wide receivers (this most likely being the case). Honestly, Chan seemed scared and intimidated by Houston's D with such conservative play calling all game. If the coach is timid, it ultimately reflects on the players.
  9. In previous years, we would get blown out or lose games like today because we were simply outskilled in many positions. Looking at this roster, we have enough talent to be a playoff team, but the talent is being nullified with completely inept coaching and below average QB play. When a I look at the players on this defense, I see a talented Dline accompanied by limited talent at the LB positons and good young talent in the secondary. Then why the hell are we performing this bad? I believe it starts with Wanny and his scheme. When you look at some of the more successful defenses ( Baltimore, Jets, Pittsburgh, Houston) they throw crazy blitzes at you all game and do many different things to confuse offenses. Just watching our defense, it is probably the most uncreative, vanilla thing i've ever seen. It's the same thing ever damn play: 2 deep safeties, man to man accross the board with 4 man rushing. On top of that, there are rarely any stunts used to free up pass rushers. No **** we're getting thrashed by average-slightly above average QB's! I don't care who you have out there on defense, you're not gonna be successful running the same vanilla scheme every play. On the offensive side, I see a GREAT oline when healthy accompanied with 2 GREAT running backs. We should be a ground and pound team plain and simple, but aren't thanks to Chan and his pass happy offense, which he runs despite a very bad QB. Today, Jackson and Spiller simply couldn't be stopped every time they touched the ball. Guess what, they only had 20 carries between them. There is no way in hell two great RB's which are running through a defense should be limited to 20 carries in a game, I'm sorry. They should've had a minimum of 30-35 carries between them. If we want to turn this thing around this year, which we have the talent to do, these guys need to see the ball more. Now this brings me to my last point, regarding Ryan Fitzpatrick. For 3.75 quarters, he actually looked good today (albeit against a Titans defense that is one of the worst against the pass). And then there came the 3rd and 7 with 2:57 to go, where Fitz completely overthrew his intended WR, Stevie Johnson (the pass was not intended for Jones as some thought). And what do you know, the Titans pick if off, start from our 50 and the rest is history. You know what, he made a mistake, fine. Every QB make mistakes, and he had a chance with 1:05 left to take the team around 50 yards downfield and attempt a GW field goal. Unsurpirisingly, Fitz failed once again under pressure and failed to lead the troops downfield, as he went 4 and out, giving Tennessee the win. That last 2:50 sealed it for me. Fitz is not the guy. Ive stuck with him throughout the horrid end last year and the bad start to this year. But that was the final straw. Good QB's WIN games for their teams, not lose them. Did any of you watch Brady lead his team downfield today to kick the tying field goal to force the game to OT? Well, thats what we needed Fitz to do, and he has constantly let us down. Looking forward, we have a bye to get things figured out now. Then we play the best AFC team on the road followed by the Patriots. These next 2 games will dictate our playoff hopes. Win one, and you're 4-5 going into the easiest strech of the season with a legit shot at making it. Win 0, you're 3-6 with a very slim shot at doing anything the rest of the way. Lets see what happens, but overall, I know we have the players, its just a questions of whether we can get it together/
  10. Incarcerated Bob on twitter just tweeted that the Bills are one of the teams in contact with the Chiefs about Bowe...
  11. For all the heat Fitz and the defense has taken over the last 24 hours, I think Stevie Johnson is another player that should be noticed for his lack of production. Yesterday he only had 2 catches for 23 yards. Im sorry, but for a guy who's a number 1 receiver, and getting paid 7 mill a year, that's unacceptable. If we're gonna have more success on offense, Stevie needs to step up. Yes, I know Fitz has missed some throws directed his way, but SJ has dropped too many passes, and frankly hasn't made enough big plays.
  12. It looked similar to the Searcy pick last year against Oakland on the hail mary, expect that one was called correctly.
  13. I still think Jackson will most-likely be back next week, based on reports
  14. Coming into this game, I truly believed we had a better team than the Jets. And guess what, I still do. We didn't lose because of a lack of talent Bills fans. Despite what happened on the field today, I know we are much much better than this. The Jets came in hungry, trying to prove something to the NFL. We didn't. Not only the players, but the coaches assumed that our great offseason means we just have to show up and play, and we'll get victories. Well guess what, the Jets outworked us and wanted the win more. You could see the Jets were a lot more prepared to play than we were. As for Fitzpatrick, he needs to be better, and I think he will be. Some goes for the defense. Next week, I want to see that fire lit under us. We play a KC team that also got their asses kicked today, so it'll be an interesting game. BTW, I think Spiller will establish himself as one of the games best backs by seasons end, especially if Freddy is hurt for an extended period.
