  1. 1. Quentin Nelson (he'll be gone by 20 and I don't want to trade up). After that Vita Vea 2. Andrew Norwell 3. Wanted Alex Smith -- now not sure, maybe Sam Bradford 4. NY Jets -- It's always a good day when we beat the Jets. 5. No, I think he's done -- his call.
  2. I like Quentin Nelson alot, but He'll be long gone by the time the Bills pick. If I wanted an O-Lineman (and I do since Eric Wood retired) next up os Billy Price from Ohio State. He can play both G & C which gives some versatility in areas we need. I do not think he will bust, but he has had a tendency to draw some flags in the past and I do not see him having the ability to move out to Tackle , should the need arise.
  3. Love hearing folks talk about the older Bills. That defense that McDole was part of was great. I remember once when Jim Dunaway scooped up a fumble and took off, the announcer called it a "Runaway with Dunaway". Tom Day would knock down the ball carrier and then help him up.
  4. My prediction is that someone who does not deserve it will be pushed up the draft board because that could run faster and jump higher that folks thought while wearing shorts. If they let players play in shorts that these pieces of information would be interesting. We'll also see that Mayfield is shorter than his program height and that will scare some folks when it should not.
  5. I'm ok if Mayfield falls to us. Hoping that some team get scared off or find something at the combine to downgrade him. I don't want any of the other we could get at pick 21 and don't want to trade up to the top 2 or 3 for Rosen and Darnold. The reasons: - the cost will be too high -- we will not be able to fill other holes we need to fill - Rosen will make it, I have doubts on Darnold so there's only one for me. - I would trade up a few positions ( 3-5 spots) to get Mayfield, but no more than that.
  6. I think Landry has alot of talent and would be a definite upgrade for the Bills a WR. That said, he's a tough sell because of what he did to Aaron Williams. I think Bills fans would roast him so for me, he's a pass.
  7. I think there are too many other needs that must be filled -- O-Line, LB, WR, D-Tackle.
  8. I think teams get enamored with a QBs physical skills (arm & legs) and forget to look at the harder to measure skills such and leadership. Josh Allen did not lead his team to anything. Leadership is one of the things I like about Baker Mayfield - it looked like he always believed he could lead his team to success and instilled that in his team.
  9. Agree with MTBill here. I expect Benjamin will have a much better year this coming year. Still not sure on Jones, but he deserves another year. We do need some speed in this position. We absolutely need another RB and I don't think whoever it will be is on the roster today. Shandy still is great, but we need a tandem and it's not Tolbert.
  10. We're already weak at tackle and we are sending Glenn away for a QB we "hope" might be good. I'm not sold on either Darnold or Rosen 100%. Rosen is the best of those two and will he be there at pick 3 -- not likely. I say "DOH" to this trade
  11. I don't see what Mahomes did to warrant moving up while Fourtnette lead his team to an unexpected championship game performance and is moved out of the top 5.
  12. If the Bills are fortunate enough to land a veteran like Alex Smith, I would say NO. The Bill's have enough other holes (O-line, D-Tackle, Pass Rusher, linebacker, wideout) that I want to spend my draft capital in those areas. There is alot of age on this team in some areas and if it's not addressed, it could be a steep fall.
  13. Schwartz is a great D-Coordinator and it sucked that the Bills hired Sexy Rexy to be there Head Coach which force Schwartz out.
  14. I think they keep Glenn and he is the starter at LT unless he proves he can't do it. They move Dawkins to RT and say good bye to Mills unless they can keep him cheaply as a back-up. Miller comes back as the RG and we say good bye to Ducasse. Groy stays as a backup at multiple positions. They draft an O-Lineman in round 2 and groom to play as Incognito & Woods are getting older. If this drafted linemen os good enough, he replaces Miller.
  15. I wanted T-Mobile to succeed and attributed some of his bad games to schemes and the people around him, but after watching this year, I was wrong. Taylor is a good back-up who can come in and not hurt a team, but he is not leading the team to a win consistently. QB's I have wanted in the past -- biggest push was for Cousins in the 3rd round. This year, I've been on the Mayfield bandwagon and I think he could be good, but there will be some developmental time for him and the aging Bills don't have that time. I'm now on the Alex Smith bandwagon and with him, I think the Bills can make and advance in the playoffs in 2018.
  16. I am on board with you that if we can pry Alex Smith out of KC (and that should be doable) that we should. I would go as high as a 2nd rounder and I think that is a good idea to have a rich offer as I think multiple teams will be after him and we need to be the winner. It is a rent-a-player deal as he only has 1 year on his contract, but all that takes is money to solve. I would have Peterman behind him to learn from him. We coan then use our draft choices on O & D lineman.
  17. Good Point -- it rates up there with the line "I'm just saying" and you know that whatever follows that is crazytalk
  18. Just what we need, another judgement call to be made by the zebras to determine the intent of the player. I don't like this.
  19. This hire does nothing to make me believe our offense will be improved.
  20. I like Vea because of his size. I think we need someone who with clog the middle and stop the run. Hurst is a little small for D-Tackle in the NFL, in my opinion. Maybe a good 3-4 end.
  21. Here is what I would like to see happen o resolve the Bill's QB situation: 1. If the Bills's can pry Alex Smith away from KC (I expect them to go with Mahomes), they should. He is 33 years old and has likely up to 5 years of playing time left. He has 1 more year on his current contract so KC may just cut him, but we could get him in a trade for no more than a 2nd round pick, maybe a 3rd rounder. The reason I like him is that he is a good game manager and does take care of the ball. He can also read the field, which Tyrod can't do. The risk is that if we can't resign him, it's only a 1 year rental. 2. Have Peterman study under Smith. I think Peterman can play, but he needs time to learn and someone to learn it from.
