These guys purposely keep it as vague as possbile so if/when anything happens they can claim they knew.

And if I’m NY I don’t. Why trade for a TE who is openly contemplating retirement? And given how far down in the 1st round the Pats draft this year (and likely next) that’s nowhere near the ammo needed to get up to #2.

Richie Incognito Retires Via Twitter - Now Confirmed

Richie never struck me as a particularly stable individual. -
Yeah, that was my first thought as well.

Whoever is playing the Pats.

Aaron Schatz: 2018 QB Boom and Bust Projections with QBASE
MDH replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That isn’t the only reason. He also didn’t run a pro style offense, didn’t have to go through his progressions often and ran an overabundence of screen passes (which is why his completion % is so high) and didn’t throw into tight windows that often. His guys were consistently “college wide open.” He also fails to set his feet before he throws way more often that you’d like to see - even when he has time to throw. He also had a habit of creating pressure where there was none. All that being said, his accuracy on the relatively few tight windows he thew into was good and he was phenomenal while under pressure. I like Mayfield and other than Rosen and Darnold he’s the guy I’d want the Bills to draft, but to claim it’s “only because of his height” that people aren’t high on him isn’t accurate. -
My preference is Darnold, Allen and Mayfield go1-3 and the Bills only have to move up to 4 to land Rosen. As such they dont have to part with next year’s 1st in the trade.

Peter King MMQB: McDermott, Taylor, Benjamin catch, Jim Kelly...
MDH replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did you read the article? Who said anything about contact.? In the past what I said about would have been ruled an incomplete pass. With the new rules it’s a complete pass and - one would assume - a fumble. I’m wondering how happy the fans are going to be when what used to be an incomplete pass is not ruled a fumble and your team has a shot at losing posession? Ground can always cause a fumble in so long as contact didn’t cause the player to go down. -
The thing that stood out to me in your assessment of Rosen was when you said that you’d have to consider whether or not you’d support him if he was drafted by the Bills. This suggests to me that your big issue with him isn’t his ability or his QB play but something he said. You don’t like the guy as a person - not an NFL prospect. If it was just about his QB play of course you’d support him and hope for the best even if youd didn’t think he’d turn out to be a quality starter. That it’s somehow personal to you colors everything else you’ve said about him.

The new catch rule is going to be problematic. If they say that a player has posession with a knee hitting the ground or reaching out then the moment the ball pops free when it hits the ground that has to be ruled a fumble. Why do I have a feeling the NFL wants to make the rule so the ball is considered a catch without maintaining control when the player hits the ground but also doesn’t want to rule it a fumble when the ball comes free from hitting the ground? -
For some reason I keep thinking we’re going to be hearing about Shady being traded to the Giants as part of the deal to move up. If they want Barkley a nice conciliation prize might be Shady (in addition to a boatload of picks.)
-
Yeah, he’s the first gi that popped into my head. One of the greatest kickoff returners I’ve ever seen.

Jets just traded with Colts for #3 pick in first round
MDH replied to Hurricane's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mira not one less bidder. Nothin is stopping the Jets from moving up to 2. Giants could get some more picks and still get their guy at 3. -
Well, Rob Johnson has a SB ring, why not EJ?

Only two things worry me about Rosen. His concussions and his propensity to force things when its better to just throw the ball away. The latter is easily coached. The former is a legitamate long term concern. You’re right though, all that other stuff is just BS.

Who is the better bridge qb Tyrod or AJ McCarron?
MDH replied to longtimebillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
AJ isnt necessarily just a bridge. Hes a viable alternative as a long term starter if the rookie doesnt pan out (or they cant make the trade up to draft their guy.) Its a “dont put all your eggs in one basket” move. Its akin to Washingon drafting Cousins. If the Bills draft a QB this year they now have two guys who may end up being the answer instead of just the one. TT was never going to be the long term solution. -
Even without his cash and position I wouldn’t look at this couple and think something was off about it. Maybe it’s just me, she’s pretty, but isn’t some unbelievable beauty.
-
Didn’t see this response before I posted. Fair enough.
-
You’ve only given part of the picture though. If he leads them to the SB this year it could be, in large part, due to the fact that the Bills don’t have to tie up a large part of their cap with their QB and are able to spend money elsewhere. By the same token, if they flame out and go (1-15) it is much easier to recover without the albatross of a huge contract dragging the Bills down. Contracts do matter.
-
The only way they don’t draft a guy in the 1st is if they just can’t find a trade partner who wants to make a semi-reasonable deal. There is no way they don’t attempt to move up and grab the guy they want. It’s been their plan since before Beane got here. It’s why they moved down last year.
-
More like they were risk averse. They’d rather sign a guy with a low ceiling and high floor than risk signing a player with a lower floor but higher ceiling. Personlly, I like this move as it doesn’t put all the Bills’ eggs in one draft pick’s basket.

I enjoyed those 3 games too.
